So if this TA passes and we furlough in June do you think more or less pilots will be picking up open time?

Perhaps numbers will be limited in conference rooms, chairs will be set 6 feet apart, No handshaking etc. but our current precautions are untenable... Both economically and emotionally. Even my most liberal friends are vocally questioning The diminishing returns from some of our precautions; throw in the right-wingers whose bias against anything even one point left of their beliefs and subsequently never grasped the concept of basic PPE and pretty soon things will start to look more normal. The main threat I see for recovery, is the result of the presidential election. No matter who wins, there are going to be some very angry people on the other side who are happy to burn their house down, as long as it harms the other side. Not too dissimilar to many of our pilots.

Nobody wants to be the first company that start sending their employees back on business travel, but once a business can do it and not be cast as overly cavalier, I think all but the most idealogical will probably follow suit. This is why I believe the recovery in air travel will not be linear. It will of course plateau well below 2019 levels, but it will be high enough that with voluntary and normal retirements the furloughs will be far less
I agree with most of this. I was responding to the fact that the company isn’t just going to throw additional ASMs while PRASM is in the dumps with a high LF.

But I’m not qualified to work in that department so what do I know?

here is my plan like it or not.

If TA passes
I will pick up any trips if I feel inclined to bring me back to around the current UPA MPG. The same will happen after June.

If TA fails
I will stay at the current UPA MPG that I have been working under for years plus well past amendable date and not pick up open time.

Why would you pickup time when we have brothers and sister out of a job?

don’t worry the company will come back before then and maybe we can give up hourly rates as well. We just don’t ever give enough for the company.

Please vote yes.

My CA displacement wasn't cancelled.

I'll be a senior FO.

I'll be pay protected with much better PBS and vacation awards. No CA reserve.

I'll be able to clean house using the trip trade system at FO seniority and at CA pay.

I love election pandering for votes $$$$. God bless America.

An example of the fruits handed out from this LOA.

It could be a consequence of unequal division.
