This whole thread is reminding me of this bit. What has this MEC ever done for us......?

Likely outcome of TA if approved:
1) Reserves will be living with MPG as LPAs are built low enough to trigger min MPG in most categories
2) Open flying will be the new premium pay and lineholders will be like goldfish at feeding time
3) Lots and lots of reserve pilots
4) P-VSL will get under 200 takers
5) All pilots hired after August 2016 will be furloughed on 1 June 2021
6) The company will come to the pilots before the fall of 2021 looking for more relief or else xxxx furloughs on 1 September 2021
7) Any questions?

That’s my guess. If we’re still in this mess with no light at the end of the tunnel by that time, all of the airlines are going to go into hardcore self preservation mode and these deals will be the least of our worries. This deal is about who wants to buy some time to see where this goes before making furlough decisions, and who wants to get started now.

A good friend (seniority ~2800) of mine told me he had to walk through the scenario with a friend about what life looks like as a widebody CA reserve driving to work (if/when called in) versus a narrow body line holder…

Just got an e-mail from C-11 Chairman in which he states that he is vehemently against this TA. He recommends pilots re-read the Con statement while keeping in mind that Kirby just said in an interview that we will be at 45% for 15 months (i.e. through next summer)...

Can someone explain how The Man Sheiky ultra came up with the MPG reduction down to 40 and resulting the 45% pay cut? Section 2 A shows the lowest for middle group as 40% or less is 52 hour MPG. If he's trying to make a point about the bottom third I don't get it.
• Pay. Do the math!
MPG reduction from 73 to 60 = 18% Pay cut
MPG reduction from 73 to 50 = 32% Pay cut
MPG reduction from 73 to 40 = 45% Pay cut
MPG reduction from 73 to 35 = 52% Pay cut

it is amazing that this is one of the first times this is being said explicitly. As though some of the NO voters have not done the math on how many extra days a month they will work when they cannot hold productive or commuteable trips OR have to commute to a new base entirely.
