Going from line MPG to reserve MPG would even be a better comparison since we’re likely to have more people on reserve. Like me I guess, my MPG will go from 70 as a line holder to 36.5 on reserve. Less than 50%. That would also be disingenuous, though, so let’s just stick with like to like comparisons.

It does make it easy to identify what your spin is, though.
I wouldn't be totally opposed to a flat 10 percent cut for Oct to March to see how it goes, and if that saves 2000 jobs, or 3000 jobs I would be good with doing that. But, I don't think those major cuts, starting at 18% are fair. Management would certainly gain a labor cost advantage?

What is the rest of the airline doing? Who else is taking cuts to save money and/or jobs?

You made my point for me. 70 to 60 is a 14% loss.

A good friend (seniority ~2800) of mine told me he had to walk through the scenario with a friend about what life looks like as a widebody CA reserve driving to work (if/when called in) versus a narrow body line holder…
This coming from a six year Captain that’s going to be pay protected in the right seat...

Best case scenario. I get permanently booted off the forums and invited to go sail with the oldmako from times past.

United pilots will take a pay cut (concession) to grow the airline: to save the airline: to buy the airline; to save the pensions; to save the furloughs. When will we learn...

Now that really explains the origins of Duvie’s constant cheerleading. Just another group targeted for yes votes.

Nucflash has been on his knees pleading to save the furloughs since March...it is now the pilots’ problem and not the company’s whenever there is a downturn
