Kinda sounds like it’s been run with the same way as UAL new hire training…

I cannot speak for Aviate but my new hire training was excellent and I believe almost all of my many classmates would say the same. I do not recall any DEI initiatives affecting or taking precedence over quality of instruction in new hire training.

Stop the presses!! Some kid is whining anonymously on Reddit! What a steaming pile of ****. Homie is complaining that his training isn’t fast enough. I hope this person only flys with regional lifers and 320 guys that “got ****ed” in the merger, then complain about their 3 month delay getting CFI.

Therein lies the problem.

Aviate IS a steaming pile of crap. Kids are being promised the moon and then given the shaft. They are signing on the dotted line and incurring significant debt, only to be told to toe the line.

There isn’t much ‘Good Leading The Way’ going on in PHX.

Not to disregard this story but what I know about the media is that they get it wrong virtually every time. A guy with the resume above may only be able to parrot what they read on Reddit.

However, ask any current UAL mentor/coach about how organized the coaching resources are and it sounds like this story tracks.

I wouldn’t take that rant as the gospel but clearly Aviate is running like a EWR weather event with no Learjet in sight.

Exactly.

Full disclosure. I’ve been that Aviate mentor/ coach and would state unequivocally that Aviate is NOT the program for anyone desiring to be a UAL pilot.

An acquaintance of mine has a kid at the academy. Evidently the quality of training is pretty good, but the school is very misleading about the timeline. They don’t have enough instructors and the students don’t get to fly very much. They advertise that it’s a fast paced program where you fly hard and quickly gain ratings, but the reality is that you only fly a couple days a week and it is going to take at much longer. The only advantage that the academy possibly provides is the potential for job placement when they eventually get the hours, but the same ratings can be earned quicker flying hard at a local flight school.

It is if you quit your job with living expenses for the timeline they give and then the timeline extends significantly. I’d be really curious to see how much they warn people upfront that the timelines may get extended and how much flexibility they demand from the students (IE if you get a part time job waiting tables to pay your rent while you’re there an extra 6 months do they get angry when you occasionally need to scrub a flight for scheduling?)

Theres not enough info imo. This could either be really whiney people with no clue how this industry works or they could have some legitimate grievances depending on how the company is running it.
