The only reason it exists is because there was no competition for Usair and no slots.

As a city Philly is dying, there is no wealth, no industry or a highly educated population like NYC, Washington or Boston. Out of all the northeastern cities it probably suffers from the most despair. If AA can get rid of it they will and honestly they should.

I’d like to give you a long weekend trip to Camden NJ to try and change your opinion.

How much did you have to pay those actors? Did they have their SAG card?

XLT the city is terrible. Some far outreaches are nice, but clt is horrible.
Miami is objectively better now than it was 20 years ago. Been downtown recently? 20 years ago it was vacant lots and parking lots. It's Highrise after Highrise with condos starting at 700k and the Brickell city center mall is a marvel to behold. Very high-class/high-end stores and people with plenty of supercars and super yachts to show for it.
You're right about CLT, it's become home to Nouveau riche rednecks.

See many neighborhoods that look like this in Newark?

Either way Newark at its worst is still better than philly at it's best plus nyc is across the river.

The only reason PHL exists as a hub is because it's cheap and Parker was cheap. Allegheny County Airport Authority tried to play hardball with him and lost, which is why PIT is a ghost town now. It was the far superior hub.

There may not be a ton of money in the city of Philadelphia, but there are a lot of people and there is a fair amount of money in some of the surrounding areas in PA and NJ. Basically anyone around here who has a roughly equidistant drive would much rather go out of PHL than EWR, hands down.

PHL is also low key a good alternative to the NYC airports for connecting traffic going to Europe. PHL will never match the size of the operation and opportunities at EWR, but it does at least have a purpose.

Still doesn't compare to the rest of the Northeast, it is the poorest of them all.

Everyone in the area knows Kensington is by far the worst part of Philly. Just two neighborhoods over you start to find some of the nicest parts of the city. I’m under no grand illusion about the city in general, but that definitely isn’t fair representation of anything.

If you’re pursuing an opportunity to seek the world from a different perspective, Queensbridge is across the river as well.
