what happens if the drop includes just enough FO and CA bids for the class size?

then someone might be forced to take CA just as plenty of folks were forced into WB FO

well they can’t start upgrade training until off probation. So that is about a year.

Does anyone see any category where United out-did Delta? I hope the P2P's will put together a comparison document.

Not a dig at the union, this is totally on United management, but this AIP should have been the company's offer the day after Delta's AIP went public. With all the wrangling go on for the last 4 months, I thought we were going to get a BETTER contract than Delta. There should be a painful retro add-on from Delta's DOS to our DOS.
United has more wide body pilots than Delta. So, correct me if I’m wrong, but in the aggregate, although the rates are the same, more United pilots will make more money since there will be more opportunities to fly aircraft in higher pay bands.

The company wanted that language in there for a reason. Something beyond just attracting SWA and AA pilots. Here's to hoping it won't show up in future new hire drops.

that’s not how the bullet point read:

it says 500 hrs at UA and off probation

OR

350 hrs in type at UA

so if you meet the second part .. off probation is no longer a requirement

also mentioned consolidation lines, I guess if OE hits 100 hours for a new hire it doesn’t matter too much but they’d get to 350 faster than the norm

This isn’t wrong, but it’s a one-dimensional perspective on a multi-dimensional formula

Delta pilots can earn more than United pilots for a number of other reasons, one of which all their premium is 100%. United’s is 50%, 75%, or 100%, and a lot of pilots are gobbling up 50% as soon as it’s offered. This isn’t changing in this AIP.

Can someone explain the basics of the new reserve rules? Callout time, short call conversions, etc…

This AIP is good. It's a massive step up from TUMI but as a whole it is still not as good as Delta let alone industry leading.
