I think that’s what half these people aren’t getting is the fact that the countries we are now going to require this from previously didn’t need to have a visa. They were countries that I guess we would consider our friends? Australia, UK, Germany, Austria, etc.. but now we’re gonna apply that to those countries as well.
We depend on international tourism at this company. So if you think this isn’t going to slow down tourism, you might want to take your political blinders off.

No it doesn't, nor is it a policy. It would be more accurate to say that it isn't required of people visiting the US under the visa waiver program, but could be in the future. Most travelers are not part of the VWP.

That’s a hell of a thing to ask for and I am sure that it’s going to affect us if it even gets near being passed. That’s not me being political, that’s me, as a family man thinking of how I plan my international vacations. Hence I don’t bring my family with me to China…

Agreed, no visa needed. The question is that if you were a normal tourist and now had to provide social media history and DNA just to go to Disney, would you? Knowing there is a possibility you make it here and get turned away because you had posts critical of the current administration? (Yes, there are cases of this happening). These are countries we consider allies.

I thinks that’s just because they are the other Superpower.
Look it, I keep hearing people say things like…..”our ceo kissed the ring.”
What do you think any western large multinational did to Xi Jinping and his predecessor Hu Jintao since the late 90’s?
again this has it not all negative…….where would our company be without all those widebodies landing in Mainland China…….
……where would the state of California University system be without all those Birth Tourist babies paying full price?

You guys are focusing too much on the next 3 years. Orange will be gone and at the pace he is ******* it up, Barbie Kent will be in and revert to Grandpa’s policies in 2029. United will be fine. Good product, good planes, vast network, raising the US bar on premium products. Drag McQueen (Kirby) is controlling what he can, has truly transformed United. Fleet wise, his ace in the deck is retiring older planes. Smart enough to order a crap load of planes, with the intention of parking older ones in case demand calls for it. Get in line for the planes early, and lots of them. Fleet growth is unsustainable and not gonna continue net growth, but that’s ok, fleet will be in excellent shape.
Drag McQueen has been very good for United, from a business perspective and an employee one as well, he meshes real well with the very woke workforce. Investors love him as does the board. Unless something changes drastically, United is very well positioned for the future, with the ability to adapt the fleet without getting stuck with old clunkers. Very good job (not for everyone), great fleet, what’s not to like?

The policy you are referring to was in place for all 4 years of the Biden Administration and there were about 40,000 searches a year of their mobile devices and social media posts. Every one of them that were detained was because the person was on a watchlist etc and the only people were denied was not just because they "didn't like the current administration".
In an average year there are about 400,000 denied entry into the US. Most require no searches. They don't meet the entry requirements. In 2024, Biden's last year, there were over 1.2M people denied entry.
So please spare us the "this administration" because this is just how US policy works, and even if one or two people are sent back because they hate Trump it doesn't move the needle compared to the number of people we deny entry to every year.

Also I wouldn't shed a tear if the UC system couldn't fill the slots. Between gouging young people in tuition, meals and lodging they provide an average education at best.
