I am a 2X L-UAL furloughee considering retirement from the military and taking a position on the L-CAL side of the house. My goal is to eventually get back to Denver. Can anyone provide info on L-CAL plans to base B-737s out of DEN? Lowest seniority in DEN? Ability to commute from DEN to IAH or EWR with 12 years credit on the standby list? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The B737 is based in Denver with 77 FO's. The junior guy is #4730's.

I'm only showing 34 737 DEN FO's staffed for the month of November with a system seniority range of 1146/4072?

How about ORD? Is that hard to be awarded for a newhire?

Monthly bid vs perm bid. The base is still new.

ORD is more junior than DEN, but there has to be a vacancy to be awarded the base. It's small, so it's difficult to get.

Otto Pilot,

Thanks for the info on DEN. Does L-CAL have time restrictions on transferring from a newly assigned base, e.g. IAH or EWR? Any info on how difficult the commute is from DEN to IAH or EWR?

According what we were told in class last week by manpower at LCAL, Denver likely to at least double in size on the next bid. ORD to grow too. IAH EWR status quo. Possible continued increases for LAX.

Also for those SFO minded among us, SFO 737 very likely next bid. No details available, but, "Big long term commitment of resources" targeted for SFO if "real estate" can be secured...read: additional gate space?. Go Giants!
