This is incorrect. I contacted the union when I first heard of this, asking if this was the case. An EB member told me that the IPA was fully aware of the situation and that it was due to a family medical hardship, as Salty mentioned above.

Surprised you would regurgitate groupthink bullet points is all. I don't watch the show myself. Prefer news we all used to get in that mythical time America was so great: print.

"Groupthink bulletin points"? Haha.. Maybe you should take a look in the mirror? ..and if you don't watch the show then why did you bring it up?

My only point was that you bringing politics into this thread was unnecessary. You started a great thread! So why pollute it with nonsense?

When it comes to politics (and few other topics) we'll never agree on who's right and who's wrong so what's the point?
If you do feel an urge to share some of the leftist hogwash and hateful drivel I'll respond in kind so why don't we stay on topic from now on, shall we?

Which brings me to this.
Based on the numerous training event cancellations (at least in ANC) will we actually see 300 new-hires this year? Crew members have had their training canceled due to lack of instructors, sim support and/or sim breaking down. Seriously doubt we'll see another system bid this year but maybe they'll manage to pull this off somehow?

A little thread diversion is a good thing every now and then...?

Maybe so...

It certainly is very discouraging to be witnessing this back and forth arguing. I have met all the parties involved and have tremendous respect for them all. I sincerely wish they'd get together over a few beers and just talk it out. There ARE better ways..
In the end my EB speaks for me. That's why we vote...
The company must be salivating watching this spectacle..

To all our newbies - this is just a temporary disagreement so please do not get discouraged. We still are a very strong union and will maintain our cohesiveness and strength. All families argue from time to time..

With respect to my colleagues and my own ability to go off on a tangent...it'd be nice if we could keep hiring threads free of political side-tangents, be them national or union-internal.

What's the estimated time to CA now days at UPS?

I know it's probably buried somewhere in here, my searches couldn't find it. Thanks!

12 years as of today to the junior CA; our Age 65 retirement wave doesn't ramp up until 2024, when it will run 10 years.

That 12 years will most likely increase, as the number of bypassers decreases for the first time in years. IMHO

590 bypassing upgrade.

If just 25% of them opt to upgrade, that would be a years worth of training events.

Upgrades will be in the 13-15 year range by 2019.

Unless we buy Atlas

Anyone have any ideas how late into the year they'll run classes?
