Hey guys just curious, on a relief line with LC are you getting used with how much flying we have going on? Are you just at home most days? Is that able to be converted to short call or no? I’m hoping not.

Bait pilots with a bonus when you need them then shaft them when it suits you and AW wants loyalty or people to sell their souls? And sorry to the union guys, you don’t represent our interests making LOAs without speaking to the pilot group. A union is a mere formality in today’s world.

To put it plainly this was downright wrong and just shows the company cares more about itself than its employees a la classic corporate America.

Now let’s wait for the diehards to crap on us who are ****ed off with this.
Couldn't agree with you more. Everyone understands that it's a tough time for Air Wis, pilots, FA, etc.. But to take the bonus without a discussion of "What can we do to help you in return?" may show some true colors. The majority of us have been displaced and/or put on short call next month. Finding a way to convert short call to long call or give us PTO (they don't need us to work anyways) would be a start to an apology.

There's lots of things Air Wis can give the pilot group that cost the company nothing. But instead, they're unilaterally taking what is owed to us, and not giving anything in return.

Not sure if you know this but the price of housing has gone up significantly. If one were to take the bonus and put 100% of It towards the down payment of the exact same house as 5 years ago the payment would still be a higher percentage of the FOS income. Just looking through houses and condos for sale near Chicago, several that are in the 250-350k range sold 5-10 years ago for 100-150k less. Prices now are higher than the 2008 bubble.

I've been on LC with a relief line for May. IAD based. I was assigned a 3 day starting today sometime during the first few days of the month. That's it. You're supposed to call every night after 6 pm central, 48 hours prior to your LC day.

I'm off for June but I noticed something in the bid packages. With only 12 days off and 4.5 hours credit for each LC day, you should be getting 81 hours not 75 as published. Don't forget about that!

LC on a relief line can't be converted to SC.

the way I see it, they don’t “owe” us anything and we are simply a means of income for them and they give us a job ie you scratch my back and I scratch yours. They know we’ll walk as soon as we land a better job (personally I wanted to stay with the company and instruct).

That being said, I get things are hard right now but this stunt is going to lead to an exodus of pilots when companies start hiring again.

no such thing as a “good company”...the people make a good company and when you shaft the people you shaft the company. Of course the company probably doesn’t care because of their whole “we’ve weathered all storms” and that attitude creates arrogance and when that happens the cookie crumbles.

if they do survive good for them, all I know is they’ve proven that we are expendable and this is just a job. If they let us go they know there’s plenty of goats out there who’ll run to them for a job.

on a quick glance it looks like they are all 14 days off on the relief lines.

This is exactly why the bonus should have been folded into the pay scale like others have done. Is everyone enjoying their 1.5%?

I’m glad we got the 1.5 when we did, if we rejected that we would be Negotiating for higher rates now and we all know how that would turn out for us. Now, I do wish bonuses ended and were rolled in but we are really in a place to negotiate now. The companies strategy of stall to the next downturn almost worked in their favor
