I don't see the Spirit and JetBlue buyout.. Seems so odd. Completely different product, and different style of passengers. If they raise fares to bring Spirit flying up to Jetblue standard, then they lose those low fare pax, and if they reduce service to become more low cost, then they lose the JetBlue pax that have come to expect that level of service.

Depends who you ask.

Some think it was fair, others think they got hosed.

It went to arbitration but I think it was pretty reasonable… I was junior at the time and ended up getting slotted DOH.

I don’t SWA happening at all.

Let’s be honest, you don’t want to see it at all😂. I don’t really either, they were miles apart. If any of this they feel threatens them, they will show up with bags of cash… 1 to 4 odds they move on B6 or AS. I have a funny feeling UAL is about to try something. AS and B6, if it going to happen, it’s likely to happen in the next couple of weeks.
I was told AS/B6 will 100% come to a board vote… BM only gets one vote, and he would likely be unemployed by a positive outcome.

Yes. NK cabin configuration, and route structure is all wrong for B6. The customer base is all wrong. They could re work all of that, but it would pee away a LOT of the NK value that they paid for... makes little sense to me at face value.

Only inconsistency between AS and B6 is fleet type. But the combined entity would be so large that it could easily support two fleets. There's also a fringe benefit to that... if the max has to take another time out for example, it would be nice to not have all the eggs in one basket.

There’s too many tech issues plaguing WN right now. The last thing they’re interested in
is bringing on a Bus a MAX 9/10 and a regional turbo prop feeder. WN does not like to outsource. I could be wrong, but I seriously doubt a WN/AS merger. And you’re right I don’t want to see that 😎

I think any of the Big Four being permitted to grow by merging or acquisition by the DOJ is unlikely right now. The push is for more competition, not less.

Man you've got chips on every number at this point. You're bound to be right eventually.

QX could easily be sold, buses would be gone by any SLI, all MAX 9-10’s could be changed to 7-8’s… your probably safe, that would sting for anyone for an entire career.

They can easily bring on the max 9 and there has been talk about maybe the ten later on which we don’t even know at this point when it will enter service. And I’m sure WN would just dump the regional part and anything they can’t fly with a max 7 they’ll cut.
