Cash offer from who? B6 to AS or AS to B6? NK just agreed to entertain the B6 offer. Are you saying NK will back out of the F9 offer and then B6 will back out of their own offer to NK to be bought by AS but AS has to dissappear and leave town after the buy??? This is starting to look like a daytime Soap, titled, "As the Attrition Rises".... (Best I could come up with on one cup of coffee)

Thats amazing. Truly. So incredibly myopic.

This is starting to sound like a pathetic attempt at getting SW to up their offer. How many times does AS need to hear they have a branding problem.

I would love nothing more than to be wrong about Alaska’s ability to grow brand recognition and be able to succeed outside of the pnw, but history has not been kind to that venture.

Given what jetblues objectives are , or at least written into the explanation for the acquisition, there is no chance they go for an all cash offer where they become alaska airlines. They’re trying to become a large airline that competes more directly with the big 4.. they aren’t gonna go from that objective to selling the ship

They need about 8B to pull this off… That’s a lot capital to raise.

There is a fiduciary duty to protect the investors. If shareholders walk away with a handsome sum, they can throw their dreams away and walk away with bags of cash. That’s exactly what happened to VX.

Board, yes. Presumably.

Management team, in theory. But they may also be emotionally vested in being BMOC in seattle. Yeah, they could retire young in extreme comfort, but that often doesn't appeal to that set.

Well, I guess, in the mean time we’ll just keep workin towards a new contract, applying appropriate legal pressure, while airline management teams play who’s got a bigger D.

Not to mention, the rule of, "Money talks", applies to both companies' Boards. Just as AS' board would have to consider a financial duty to walk, so would B6's....

We are deep into the what ifs due to management showing up this week to mediation and have pulled a “whoops I forgot to do my homework.” As someone who routinely pulled this line growing up, it was never forgotten, it was arrogance thinking I never needed to do it. I think our management is similarly just showing their arrogance and saying look we gave you all we are willing to give and are convinced the mediator will see ALPA as being unreasonable, as they see them. I don’t see a merger/acquisition happening at all outside of acquiring a small airline to add warm bodies and force arbitration.
