No 1 item in 2020 is to get rid of the retirement plan for “some” of our Pilots!
401k for all to level the playing field.
It’s expensive and benefits very few and should give us a great starting point😉
That alone should ‘fund’ several improvements the majority is looking for.

BS. Thats their deal. Leave that one alone. Enough guys have had that snatched away by airline suit n tie f&@ks (all the while lining their pockets) in the past. A pilot group should never consider doing that to their brothers.
Your probably not old enough to know better though.

So what your saying is don't F&^$ one group for the benefit of another? Lets noodle on that for while.... PBS for VX = gone, massive loss of seniority for VX = gone, commutability for the VX pilots = gone, QOL for VX = gone, VX base closing = gone, transcon flying for VX = gone, uniform allowance for VX = gone, parking for VX = gone, 13 days off on RSV for VX = gone, premium pay over 80 hours for VX = gone. I'm sure I'm missing a dozen other items the VX pilots have gotten F*&^ on, but let's make sure we don't touch the defined benefits plan a handful of ALK pilots enjoy. Sounds fair to me

For the sake of all who are reading this back and forth, I'll climb off the seesaw because it's going nowhere. The only thing I ask is you go back and read everything I've written in all threads and show me where I've been condescending. I've intentionally avoided that because I don't treat coworkers that way. I've only pointed out that BOTH groups have similar flaws and that no VX pilot can justifiably hold any moral high ground over any AS pilot. Nor do I think any AS pilot should act in kind. You're absolutely right about repeating the, "dead horse being beaten", line but guys keep trying to revive the damn horse and I have to yet again point out that the horse is DOA. This poor horse is looking like Frankenstein. If I could cheers a beer with you right now Biz I would.

I too don't have a pension but you guys are real tools. Are you two for real? From my understanding, these guys lost just about everything with Kasher except the pension. Keep painting that bullseye on your backs and you won't be around to vote for contract 2020. Ungrateful bunch of whiners! All of us had to work hard to get to Alaska and reading stuff like this makes me sick. I understand that some of you bus guys didn't want to work for Alaska but were you really that naive to think that Virgin was going to be a career airline?
As far as working hard to get to AS? I’m pretty sure not everyone worked hard to get to there. That’s the case for all airlines. Same with VX. As far as VX for a career? Yeah, many of us thought VX would be around for a long time. It was Branson’s vision for 1 world 1 airline. But money speaks louder than vision and here we are. For better or for worse. We all, and yes all of us, received substantial raises back in November. We all benefited from this whole process well before we could have. That needs to be understood by everyone.
What we need to do is take the horses back to the barn and all ride out at the same time in the same direction. No one side is better than the other. Big change has happened. We’re pilots and we’re gonna *****.

The point of my post wasn’t to start a s#%t slinging constest, it was just to say that a few bucks here or there doesn’t make a huge difference. There are large gains to be made in work rules.
I think the pension comment was in jest. Hence the smily face. Everyone needs to chill out.
As for the comment about this being a hiring thread. Alaska isn’t hiring until probably 2019 and if you are looking to move to a major airline for the rest of your career I would highly recommended considering somewhere else that has industry standard pay, job protections, and real work rules. Do your homework before you decide this is a great place to settle.
