Its all optics......I hope they finally start to realize that the phrase "My MEC Speaks For Me" isn't a computerized automatic reply.

I see. A divide and conquer strategy. Going for the smallest increase possible as opposed to delay as long as possible. Do you have a large % of pilots that are not on board with your mec’s ask/strategy? Doesn’t seem like it like looking from the outside so that would be a failed strategy on managements part imo.

Almost 1/2 of the pilot group showed up for the April 1 picketing event. So, if management is counting on a large % of pilots drinking the company Kool-Aid and not supporting the MEC, then they are dreaming.

The pilot group is in lockstep with the MEC. I think if that wasn't the case, we wouldn't have seen the attendance we did on April 1st. The company has long suggested that the pilots are happy, and that its the MEC that's telling them to be angry. Once again, the show of force we had during our informational picketing event should've been a tell tail sign that we as whole demand a market rate contract.

But yes, divide and conquer has been their objective from the beginning of negotiations, and its not working one bit

Question about the position bid. Why would someone junior to you keep their base that you wanted even though you bid for their base and are senior? I'm not saying I would have even gotten the spot but it is a pretty weird system.

However, as they do reduce our flying (which pilots can't control) and they hopefully do have reserves (which I assume they will as they continue to reduce our flying do to ensure reserves), I am going to enjoy my summer. Even if there are no reserves, I'm not going to fly 87 like most of the lines in SEA. Personally, I will enjoy family and friends, support our Union and enjoy the summer King fishing and fly around 50ish per month. Make this place work for you. That's the only way to be happy here.
TIght lines. See you out there.

All additions are processed first. Then if there are reductions those get processed. Then pilots being reduced have bumping rights and then pilots being bumped have bumping rights all the way to the bottom of the seniority list…Bidding for a base or a position does not come with bumping rights

So to get into a base that doesn't have any additions you need to be bumped out of another base?

To get into a base there needs to be an open spot for you, unless you got pushed out of your spot, then you can push someone junior out of their spot.

Until the airbuses are gone everyone near the bottom of the list for that seat is vulnerable to getting displaced by someone senior coming off the bus, or someone displaced by someone coming off the bus, or someone displaced by that person, etc, until they reach your seniority level

Vacancies are done first. If you couldn't hold a certain base/seat during a vacancy process, no one junior to you is holding it either.

Next, reductions are processed. These are people who are getting forced out of their base/seat. In this example, you're most likely talking about a junior LAX Airbus Capt. If he's getting displaced, he can bid into ANY position at ANY base at this company, so as long as his seniority can hold it (regardless of a spot open or not). Say he bids ANC CA. It would then force the bottom ANC CA guy out and this bottom ANC CA then gets to exercise his displacement rights. Rinse/repeat.
