but he would still be complaining about how bad junior reserve is as a widebody captain at United. These are the kind of people that would find something to complain about even if they were #1 on the seniority list.

I might have been glossy eyed if Chester was on the tail. /s

TBH I was a bit disappointed that he wasn’t.

Those above numbers are just a wag based on what I’m hearing. I’m not actually privy to what the recruiters are looking for.

Not sure what the interview process is like. I’d be surprised if there is a hogan style screening.

I would also assume there would be thousands applying based on the current state of the industry. Things will change quickly based on UAL and DL hiring picking up, or not.

Good luck.
did people leave OBAP with interview offers? Or has Alaska already begun inviting pilots with that criteria?

Again with the tired old “if you don’t like it leave.” You’re so desperate to finish up the JCBA so you can fly one of those aurora aircraft. Now you’re projecting it to other pilots career expectations.

It’s almost funny if it weren’t so sad watching you push back on other forum users who realize how bad this merger will be for our careers. Why not share which sections of the contract can be changed instead of arguing with the forum users here saying they want industry leading? Instead of making cryptic references to section 6?

You just want the JCBA to be rushed through so you can get your hands on one of those aircraft hanging by a string in your look at me I’m a pilot room.

Some friends went and were told they’d probably get an interview but nothing binding.

Default Hiring process

Hi all, I’m new to the forum. Looking for info on applying here, it would be my first attempt at an airline. Currently Part 135 SIC, ATP, PIC-typed, ~2000tt/750 turbine (600 pic), 600ME.

Wonder if I’d be competitive? Thanks for any info.

These are meaningless buzzwords until somebody. An actually get specific with what you want to see in a JCBA. Oh and make sure that what you're asking, is actually in a section being negotiated during a JCBA.
Have you read a union email? They show every section as being actively negotiated or an agreement having been made. This isn't the Virgin/Alaska merger where they confined the JCBA to a couple of sections.

If you don’t know what industry leading looks like I don’t buy it. I’ve told my reps what I want to see, section by section. Matching industry contracts IS mediocre, or sub par. I want the bar raised not matched. Which is what it sounds like our NC is planning on doing based off the podcasts and update teams calls. Not just pay rates not just work rules, everything.

It’s not “buzzwords”, if you want I can pm the novel I sent the union with all my asks. “This company is too cheap”, “ they will never pay us industry leading or give us the best work rules” so sick of hearing this out on line. Hold there feet to the fire vote no on the first ask, if they want any of this done quick they have to make it worth our while. If not I could care less how long this takes.

Probably hyper competitive. Silver folded, Air Wisconsin looks like it’s next, and Spirit furloughs and downgrades. Those three alone are probably 1,000+ pilots looking for jobs.

Good lord, talk about projection. I am desperate to finish up a JCBA? I couldn't possibly care WHEN the JCBA is done. I want it done right. You will never be satisfied, so why even argue about it? There is literally nothing that will come from this JCBA no matter how much the union hits it out of the park, that will make you happy. I honestly don't know why you even offer an opinion the matter.

I actually have zero desire to fly any of the airplanes we are inheriting from HAL so I could care less when I fly them or not. Again, if I wanted to fly WB aircraft, I would have left years ago. That is how adults handle their careers and lives. Instead of moaning on a forum year after year, I could simply leave if I wasn't happy and knew I wouldn't be happy. You just love bathing in misery.

Again, industry-leading doesn't mean anything. It is fluff and nothing more. Industry-leading, and getting compensated because this merger hurts your feelings are two different things. I am sick of the broad and general arguing for posterity's sake. Every contract is the same. All pilots want the most pay, the most benefits, the most days off, the best work rules blah blah blah blah. I wish there was more substance to what people actually think they should get in this contact as THAT would allow for meaningful discussion, and not just crying on a form.
