If you don’t know what industry leading looks like I don’t buy it. I’ve told my reps what I want to see, section by section. Matching industry contracts IS mediocre, or sub par. I want the bar raised not matched. Which is what it sounds like our NC is planning on doing based off the podcasts and update teams calls. Not just pay rates not just work rules, everything.
It’s not “buzzwords”, if you want I can pm the novel I sent the union with all my asks. “This company is too cheap”, “ they will never pay us industry leading or give us the best work rules” so sick of hearing this out on line. Hold there feet to the fire vote no on the first ask, if they want any of this done quick they have to make it worth our while. If not I could care less how long this takes.

What is everything?
What’s one thing industry standard that you’d refuse to sign unless it was industry leading, excluding as you said pay?
Are you aware of the differences between a JCBA and full on Section 6 negotiation?

I remember hearing that rhetoric too during the last merger. So many AS pilots told me that it is one or the other. I don't believe in that logic. We can have our cake and eat it too 100% and there is no excuse this time, that is for sure. I think the reality is that most of us want the same thing but we also need to think of things that are specific to our new emerging airline once this merger is complete. For example, the red herring is the Amazon flying and we need unique and robust language surrounding that entire operation. To me when I hear industry leading, I hear that we want to boiler plate and add 5% to it and I don't think that does us justice.

Yes I did, and the JCBA is not touching every section of the contract. That is why it is important to make the distinction. Also, to my knowledge, the same sections were negotiated last time for the VX/AS JCBA.

Dude I don’t even know what you’re arguing. This whole forum is meaningless then. As was already pointed out, it’s subjective, industry leading is different (marginally) for everyone, but not really. It’s the sentiment to not cave in and accept less or equal to what others already have that I’m saying needs to be killed.
Most of us know what we’re worth and what a good contract looks like. We knew the last one was sub par. My lack of pontificating on what a good “industry leading” contract is on this forum doesn’t mean people don’t know what a good one looks like. Nor does it render my point meaningless.

Again with the tired old “if you don’t like it leave.” You’re so desperate to finish up the JCBA so you can fly one of those aurora aircraft. Now you’re projecting it to other pilots career expectations.
It’s almost funny if it weren’t so sad watching you push back on other forum users who realize how bad this merger will be for our careers. Why not share which sections of the contract can be changed instead of arguing with the forum users here saying they want industry leading? Instead of making cryptic references to section 6?
You just want the JCBA to be rushed through so you can get your hands on one of those aircraft hanging by a string in your look at me I’m a pilot room.

Harsh reality is you could get a 10% paycut right now and you still wouldn’t give up your left seat or seniority to start over elsewhere.
Contract gains will reflect whatever the current market/economy conditions dictate. Thats how it’s always been. This isn’t 2022/2023 anymore.
Vote no to your hearts content. I do recall you were against the contract extension and pay increases on Sept 1 this year and next. How would that have gone? While all the other airlines would have gotten their pay raise for 2025 and 2026, you would have been left behind and complaining about it here.

Why try to sell the pilot group on this being a limited negotiation? Is your shiny jet syndrome really that bad?

Can you point to what sections it isn't touching? Because, again, the union emails seem to indicate it is touching everything.

What sections, by number, are not being negotiated? Should be easy to provide.
