How is the FAA allowing this airline to operate?

Wow. Seems like you guys are owned/operated by a real bunch of low-life scumbags.

good luck and I hope you guys are released soon. Also, If that was your VP of Ops, that's pretty awesome

The usual SOP for operators like this, the CEO will have Senator Harry Reid's office number one on speed dial.

Do you all have an ASAP program? Wonder if the crew gets a pass vis-à-vis. Not hoping they get a pass mind you, if these guys are not good guys, but if it was a regular crew and they stayed honest, I would certainly hope they could come out unscathed.

A lot depends on their honest intentions wrt to declaring the emergency and landing in FAR anyway. If there truly was an opportunity to divert and they willfully chose to bypass that opportunity to complete the illegal flight, they are probably in big trouble. Of course we'll now get to see if management will circle the wagons, or sell their own manager pilots down the river. They are still pilots after all - doesn't bode well.

As far as the company goes, this constitutes a 'loss of operational control' of their passenger carrying 121 airline, and I would hope they are made to answer in some meaningful way.

I think the initial story just hit CNBC today. And the usually good reporters there were "investigating" if the "three minutes/ bingo fuel" actually meant that that plane only had 3 minutes of fuel left?

Slight mention of how crew didn't know FAR was closed due to the Blue Angels.

Okay, by show of hands, who here wants to see the line from Greg Baden's LinkedIn page wherein he describes, and I quote:
"Millions of people trust me with their lives..."

I'll bet 144 passengers and four flight attendants feel differently right about now.

Senator Reid has never been a favorite of Mr. Gallagher. He has never donated large sums to Senator Reid. He typically makes a small $2500 donation to him and much larger donations to his Republican counterpart.
Below is a link to records of all Mr. Gallagher's political contributions throughout the years. He consistently made large donations to Republican politicians.
He even donated to Republican Senator John Ensign about 6 years ago and then hired the man whose wife Senator Ensign had an affair with as a favor to him. It was a big scandal, Senator Ensign ended up resigning from office.

My guess would be they pulled the emergency card as hard to believe they couldn't make Grand Forks. False Emergency + busting TFR = somebody losing their certificate for awhile.
