Or maybe, just MAYBE, he flew the MD80 at another airline. Shocking concept, I know! 😆

All you have to do is read his other posts to figure that out...geeesh. 😏 Ooooh, Disco...

That is the truth.
Most of the destinations Allegiant serves are only served by crappy little RJ's. Why jump on an RJ and connect at a hub when you can fly direct for less?

The ULCC model caters to people who would probably take Greyhound otherwise. That is no secret. Who do you think Spirit and Frontier cater to? Money is money, it doesn't matter who you make it from. It all spends the same.

I have better things to do with my spare time than read all of Packrats posts. I also have more important things to do than make 90% of my posts to a thread regarding an airline I allegedly don't fly for.

Regarding the captain terminated for the evacuation - here is a link to a website set up to help him out while he gets back on his feet:

Well, frankly, I'd prefer RJ service on an airline whose stated goal isn't to have ONE good engine on every airplane. Safety culture means a lot and there isn't a good safety culture in the head shed at Allegiant.

Hopefully, it won't take a smoking hole in the desert for the FAA to pay attention.

That goal is soooo last year. Both engines can be on the MTO program now. Sigh...

Hi, went to to most recent meet and greet in PHL last week, and received a voice mail from a gentleman when I was on my return flight wanting to go over my resume that he had received from the chief pilots. Said he would call the following day, but have yet hear back from him. Should I try to return a call to show my interest? Or just wait? Didn't leave a phone number on the voicemail but my cell history has the number. Thanks for any insight.

Thanks fish, I think you're right. I'm just worried sitting on a reserve schedule that I'll miss the call again.

Not sure how big a threat these jackasses were but the incident did delay and inconvenience all the other passengers, plus there was additional operating costs to the airline of probably several thousand dollars. Something about a group of young men being together that sometimes emboldens them toward bad behavior, even without alcohol being consumed. Would be nice if the judge gave them some jail time plus fines of $100 for each passenger, just to drive the point home.

I'd like to see them try this on an Allegiant flight. Their flight attendants are usually no-nonsense kind of folks, even polite passengers often get a less than friendly response.
