Great idea, ForeverFO.
I might add... The mechanical TO and Ldg checklist (similar concept to the electronic on the 777) is a great, great thing. Probably the safest of all checklists out there. Only problem with it - it's way too long with some unnecessary things on it. At least on the 75/76. Things that could be done silently by the FO without challenge &response.

The Boeing landing checklist on the 747-400, off the top of my head, is gear, speedbrakes arm, and landing flaps. Our company appropriately added missed approach altitude. Less is more, it's a fantastic philosophy

Agree completely. The concept behind the mechanical checklist is a good one, but it should be about 5 to 6 items at most, and 2 or 3 of those could be done in the chocks or ramp area before moving at all.
Boeing's checklist is short because 3/4 of the extra crap we do at AA is checking systems/settings that are automated. Like, how many times to we need to check items that are sensed by the TO warning system?
Thrust, flaps, trim. That should be it. There's nothing else that can hurt you on TO.

Then the US side needs to shorten theirs as well. TO/LDg lists should be 4 items max for challenge /response. Anything extra should be done silently by PF or FO.

Technically, there is no TO checklist on the US side. Only a Taxi checklist that encompasses all the items needed to takeoff.
