321s are too heavy to step climb, besides who wants to go above 340?

That's not entirely true! I had one up to 390 last month...WITH passengers aboard!

I for one believe profit sharing is a dead horse but that doesn't have to be a bad thing! Get a contract with top notch work rules and good pay and we will be better off in the long run.

I've also step climbed quite a bit, too. As we get close to the point, I'll casually mention something like, "Hey, they've got us going to 340 over XXX." We both look at it and see how the rides are. If things are favorable, we go up. Half the time, though, either the rides are crummy higher, the airplane is still too heavy to go up or the Optimum says to stay where we are.
That's good, hopefully it continues to improve.

Does anyone understand the reasoning for JCBA extension beyond today. Everyone keeps saying 'waiting until after the FA's approve their TA' but I am trying to understand the leverage and technique behind this.....

I suppose we will find out more later today.

FA's got more when Delta announced their increases. Yet still gave up Profit sharing. Anderson wants to get his pilot deal done early too. We delay and see what they get maybe.

I doubt they'll wait that long (for Delta's contract to be finalized). They are going to wait for the FAs to vote in their contract and use that to show management "see, you gave them a competitive contract, now give us one". Profit sharing would be nice but it seems this management team is dead-set against it. If we could get good work rules and premium over Delta pay, that could offset no profit sharing.

If management is wanting an extension, something MUST be in it for them.

Ebola?? Maybe Jihad? If they wait long enough we'll all go from shooting for the moon to hoping we can keep the MOU rates after the **** hits the fan.
