Guys, read the CBA! If you are getting taxed on everything you described above...it's an error.
R2....not imputed. Layovers less than 72...not imputed. Hotel at end of trip that has a duty day greater than 16 hours....not imputed.
And even sometimes gateway for that first day gets missed on imputed. Things here are not great as is....they don't need to be stretched.

I don't think anybody is stretching the truth. Imputed happens at Atlas every month. If you think the company follows the rules about it THAT would be stretching the truth. Heck, a large chunk of the pilot group didn't even get paid correctly last check! Some people never get imputed that should while others who shouldn't do get imputed. It's a huge pain.

Please point this info from the cba out to us, Mr. whiz.
R2 is taxable. Where exactly do you get this information?

One post... interesting. You must be some company lackey coming on here to distort the truth. The CBA has nothing to do with imputed income. The info I provided is straight from the company on the taxable travel section of globalnet. Don't try to sugar coat it. As others have stated, the imputed is hit or miss. Some guys get taxed on everything, others on some stuff, and some on nothing. The situations I listed are all examples of things that you can get imputed on.

I am about as far as you can get from being a company lackey. I have been reading this forum for sometime and decided to post on this issue because I myself have been incorrectly charged in the past. I posted the information to help...not distort. As was mentioned, there have been some errors.
Without getting too far off track from this forum and deep into the weeds, the taxable documents that are available as the "company's interpretation" of IRS code are dated and are rooted in the argument of what is a personal vs business expense deductible by a company.
The reference to the CBA ( 5 yrs ago) is in regards to requirements that the company must comply with ....'as an expense to them'.....
Some examples are black and white; some others are a bit unclear. It would be nice if none of these problems existed but until then, If you suspect an error I would challenge it. I did and it was fixed a month later. Good luck!

Wow!
The thread is about ATLAS AIR HIRING, Not, ATLAS AIR PAYROLL??
Is there any chance it can get back on the tracks before it totally derails and goes right into the weeds????

It is important that this issue is discussed because it is material to the decision of accepting employment at 5Y. The origins of the tax situation really lie with our "sequel to Lorenzo" management and why they "volunteered" us to pay these taxes as a deterrent to using the "benefit." They figured that we would use our jumpseat privilege instead of the now taxed gateway provision. The application of this taxation by payroll is totally random. As I have said many times on this topic, you can volunteer to pay taxes, once you are paying them you cannot un-volunteer to do so. It's all part of the puzzle and one of the reasons that a potentially great Airline with a great business model has become a shambolic joke. Sad.

I've flown with new FOs recently that believed they would be making $90K the first year, because that is what they were told during the interview and have heard other stories on the line about how new guys had no idea how things are before they took the job. So yeah... info about Atlas Air payroll is relevant in an Atlas Air Hiring thread.
