I would think having accurate pay info when taking a new job would be of some importance, but what do I know?
I've flown with new FOs recently that believed they would be making $90K the first year, because that is what they were told during the interview and have heard other stories on the line about how new guys had no idea how things are before they took the job. So yeah... info about Atlas Air payroll is relevant in an Atlas Air Hiring thread.

I was told the $90K story during the interview as well. I even had a few instructors tell me they cleared $100K their first year. How they managed to work enough/ever saw their own house, I don't know. I also thought, oh great, here's a guy VXing like crazy, thanks for your help buddy!
I did the math and it's impossible if you include per diem (are people including per diem in their pay calcs?), have no delays with OE, and then VX basically every month.
Do I expect to make anywhere near that amount? No!
I'm sure you'll never post here again, but I'll go ahead and pile on. Not caring about what your job pays is pretty darn odd.

Wow!
The thread is about ATLAS AIR HIRING, Not, ATLAS AIR PAYROLL??
Is there any chance it can get back on the tracks before it totally derails and goes right into the weeds????
I'm on A So Called, " Preferred Hiring " List since I interviewed Last
September 2016
Anything going on at all this year???

I'm sure if you assume there's VX available every day you're off that it's possible, but I think it's a mistake to assume it's available. This month there are R1 lines available. My guess is that it's gonna be very rare to see VX available until the 2nd half of the year.
Here is my first year pay on the 747. Remember this was from August of 2015 to August of 2016, when we had the same amount of flying as now but 200 less pilots so we were all busy. I did not do one day of VX. Was on Training pay for the full 4 months, 71 days in MIA training. OE completed 4 months 2 weeks after start date.
Total earnings were $58,252 for my first 12 months. That is without per diem. Looking at the way we are crewed now, until the first couple hundred leave in the next few months I would not expect much more then min Guarantee. I was surprised I made 58k first year, but up until the last 6 months it was busy. Hope this helps dispel the rumor of 90k first year. It's just not possible unless you are willing to tick off 95 percent of the pilot group here and VX your ass off.

Almost identical numbers to mine. Just shy of $59k. That was with about with 3 months of vxing when it was the cool thing to do. Nowhere near 90k. Can't be done.
Yep, I still am not sure how I made 58k without any VX, but I did have a few months of 85 hrs credit. I am lucky to get 70 hrs credit now.
