Atlas Air Hiring
JFK = Mostly charter pax. Both domestic and International. Some domestic lines flying Amazon or DHL.
Big difference is the first and last day of the pattern. CVG is likely always an operating leg, where JFK is likely always a commercial DH from JFK... meaning alternate travel on day 1 from home to the jet vice gateway travel on day 0 to base.
Spend week or two on FlightRadar24 creeping on GTI and PAC flights and also look at what the jet has done the past week, and you will get the jist.

In the current scenario, if you had two training dates,
one for atlas 737 pathway program (going to PHX, getting paid 2000/month during this training to get an ATP in a seminole, then on to actually getting hired by atlas- 64hrs guarantee at 90$/hr and get the 737 type rating, 500hrs in 2 years)
one for an American wholly owned carrier, getting hired straight away + bonuses and pay, 700hrs+ in 2 years (75 hrs guarantee at 90$/hr)
what would you pick and why?

Thanks in advanced...

It sounds like we will be re-starting the HSV base soon. One of the new 747-8s is going to the company that bought Panalpina. The Panalpina contract is why we had the HSV base. This is what I heard from the workers in HSV.

Atlas has some quasi home basing with how the patterns on the 73, as well as 76 JFK/IAH and 74 IAH bases are set up. It's no guarantee as it's not a contractually required thing, but 76 JFK has been deadheads on both ends for pretty much the entire time. Now with Houston, they are just making bases everywhere without even any flying out of there, so that's just another deadhead base.
While I was at Atlas, as soon as I got out of ANC and based down to JFK or ORD, it was easy for me to commute on Day 1 and Day 17.
While I will say, home basing would have been nice. It is not the issue that was driving pilot attrition.
Hey y'all,
I interviewed last Wednesday and got an email last Thursday that they are reviewing my documents at this time. Has anyone interviewed at Atlas in the last week or two? What was the response time like? The suspense is killing me!
Thanks!
