First year Guarantee, again something unique to Atlas?

Signing Bonus was meant to reimburse those harmed by the 6 to 7 years of frozen pay, but there would have been such a stink, even those not harmed got a piece of it.

No profit sharing until you are here one year, what's your point? It's in the contract, want it changed, next contract go for it!

DAL, AA, UAL and a lot of others have no training pay...everyone starts at first year pay day 1, often with full benefits day 1.

We need to make it better for new guys....if we can't get enough new pilots, we could easily shrink in size, with no upgrades and even captain's being downgraded...that is my biggest worry here.

With so many guys retiring/medicalling out, if we can't do better at retention and new hires, it could really cause a lot of problems.

I want International Gateway Basing...no more imputed income is one advantage, asking with more company flexibility, and everyone on first year pay day one.

If atlas isn't improving, then it is getting worse and in danger of going under. We need to make things better for everyone, including prospective new hires. We already have probably 60% of potential pilots who wine cine here because if two weeks+ on the road...we need to make it more attractive....and not just improve the contract for the 10%.

cliff, my wife just started at DL. they are on training pay until they finish OE, just like us. It works out to about the same amount of money once you figure we get paid per diem while on training pay.

Thanks again for posting KTBird's summary. Very helpful.

Can someone explain the representation structure from the Giant pilot group. I am educated with the ALPA representation at our airline. I would like to know how your group works. What are the major issues that pilots seem to have?

I don't want to see dirty laundry aired, just the major concerns that the tenured pilots as well as the challenges new hires may still see and would like worked out.

Does your Negotiating Committee have marching orders from your Executive council that represents the interests of the pilots? Again, I don't want to see their Section 6 openers. I'm sure both sides know what the sticking points are.

I understand Atlas requires pilots to write an essay as part of the interview process. Does anyone know what subjects applicants are being asked to write on? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure they dropped this. The subject didn't matter, anyway. They just wanted it to make sense, and be able to read your writing.

With all due respect, I'm not sure APC profiles are all that accurate or useful for anything other than getting a general idea about each company as you decide if you want to apply... For example, ExpressJet also has training pay of 2, $700 checks before taxes, no per diem during training (or any more pay for that matter til you start flying), along with a roommate in your hotel room (ERJ side) for training and a "uniform allowance" which you pay back (that's what they called it... Actually an interest free loan). Just some food for thought as we look to compare ourselves to others, the data on this site might not be the best source.

United has training pay, and iirc it's not too bad. Also Republic had training pay, although it's was pretty bad
