if you figure 4 months at training pay, then the other 8 months at hourly rate times MMG (64 hrs currently) you’d have a good estimate of first year. Some finish in less than four months, some a tad longer. It’s just class size and where you are in the pecking order. The training pay includes per diem which may not be listed on the APC page. If you add it all up, I think it’s about $4k a month training pay. If this has changed maybe somebody who’s been through recently can chime in. There are opportunities for Overtime during the year, and it’s a grab it when they have it kind of thing it seems most often.

benefits are reasonable. $357mo for buy-up family plan BC&BS, family buy-up dental is like $90mo. Lots of optional life disability choices too.

the retirement is lacking though. It’s a 401k with a 100% match on only 5% of your gross.

Im being told they’re finishing guys sooner now. You also go on regular pay upon finishing sim, not after finishing IOE like some other places. I do know the initial ground is almost half what it used to be. It’s a much more condensed and focused program. When they give you study material or CBT access, take it seriously.

Like Cujo said, our training mimics Spirit's. You're expected to know limitations, some call-outs, profiles and systems. They'll work with you if you need a little more help, but won't put up with someone showing up unprepared. Many years ago we had a guy show up in my class who didn't study and was sent home after a couple days.

and they should avail themselves of the instructors knowledge, we have some of the very best in the industry. We’ve had guys come over as contract instructors or even to the CMO office after finishing mainline careers that were very impressed with the instructor corps.
They’re still tweaking the 767 classic sim for little things, but it’s entirely usable. Was in it 4 hours today. Here for the week helping with new hires. Anybody here new that wants help in the paper tiger, PM me, I’ll be glad to help.

Omni has had 777s for awhile now. With more 777 airframes stored in the desert, should we expect more at Omni in the future? No SJS, just curious - although I have heard it is very nice to fly….

Doubt it, unless they plan to add cargo freighter ops here.

Just got an email for an interview about 3 weeks out in DFW. I’m so stoked I even stopped lurking and finally registered on here! Lol Just waiting to hear back confirming the date and what to do next.

Awesome! I got an invite on Monday and I selected 11/8.
I haven’t heard back yet however. Have you heard back after you responded to the email?
Thanks.

Same 11/8 date here. Haven’t heard anything more yet, any idea if we’re still responsible for getting to DFW on our own? I’d like to get the date confirmed at least before I buy a ticket.

Any idea if Omni will be going to the RTAG convention in San Diego?

I’m not sure if the ticket is on us. I just got a reply saying that I’m confirmed for 11/8 with no further information. I figure I’ll wait a little while and see if they send me any more details.
