Logging time
For those of you who log time just in case you get a call from UPS/FedEx.. whoever. ..
since most of what we do is long haul with an RO or 2.. how do you log it in your logbook?
if It’s a 13-hr flight that was not your leg.. and you spent 3 hours in the bunk, 3 sitting in one of the (front) seats … the other 3 hitting on the hot FA … do you log the flight as 13 hours? as 3 hours?
8 hours since that’s the max possible? (Legally).. putting 13 down seems like it’s inviting a future interviewer to ask some questions… yet you are a required crew member for this 13 hr flight to be possible to complete ..?
thx.
(also, if and when I upgrade, and am the PIC… I’d log all 13 hours? )
thanks so much

Why is eight hours the "max possible (legally)?"
If you fly 12 hours, all 12 count against your flight and duty limitations, and if you are part of that crew, but not at the controls, when a violation occurs, you're on the hook for the same ASAP report, and for enforcement action.
The pilot in command remains the pilot in command, incidentally, of an aircraft requiring more than one crewmember, and may log it accordingly.
