There is no hard fast rule is the answer. There is usually decent variety to choose from.
The splits vary from 8/8 to 3/13 with the 1 override day thrown in at the front or back someplace. The 3/13 would probably work well for somebody with one that ended with 3-10 days the previous month.

Also, are your 8/8 to 3/13 off/on or on/off?

It was on/on and it’s not any specific days on, it was the range. I’ve seen two blocks of 8 days on, all the way to line with a block of 2 days and a block of 14 days…. and every combination in between. Even saw a line with three blocks of duty days recently. They’ll build whatever combination they need. add in the override day at the beginning/end of a block of days too. Lately they’ve been using the override day at least 50% of the time. It’s 3.76 hours added to guarantee.
on the 767 there is generally pretty good variety IMHO

luck of the draw. Most guys bid similarly each month, and many change as needed for vacations, holidays, birthdays…. Lots of guys only want to commute once per month.

For anyone, do vacation days slide at Omni to cover work blocks or if they land on days off then too bad?

Thank you again for your responses. Great info. I was just trying to gauge if split lines were a reasonable possibility for a potential applicant or if the expectation should really be 16 on.

They have a "protest period" after bid awards to correct mistakes; but they also take requests during that period. Say for example you have a birthday or family event that landed on a workday, you can swap RSV days around with their approval to get the needed time off.

Training Questions
I tried PM'ing a couple of people but don't have permissions. I have an October 19th Class date and am looking forward to working for Omni. I am retired Military (Army) and lifestyle / schedule is very attractive - assuming I make it through training, I will be a lifer for my last 7 (hopefully 9!) years of 121 eligibility. I flew on Omni multiple times to the sandbox and that is how I became aware of them. Waiting anxiously for my CBTs - I'm an on call charter pilot at the moment and have time to study before I get there.
So when I was in training at Mesa for the CRJ everything we studied was for the 900 (numbers to memorize like wingspan etc.) even though we flew all CRJ models (at the time). I don't know anything about Boeing but have purchased some Boeing books - I don't expect anyone on this forum to give me CBT access early but what should I be studying prior to CBT access?
Also - is all the training in Dallas or just the sims? Do most guys drive there?
PM me if you prefer (and you can!)
Thank you -

19 Oct 767 Class
Hey everyone.
For those who sent a PM, I responded. Sorry it took so long.
I have set up a WhatsApp group for our class and currently have three members of the class getting to know each other. If you like to join in send me a PM and I will add you to the group. Hope to hear from everyone.
Thanks,
Fred

Tokyo Commute Possible?
Hey guys. This is an awesome thread - appreciate all the great info offered up by the regular contributors. Omni sounds like an awesome company to work for and I'm excited about getting an interview this month.
My wife is Japanese and I was playing with the idea of an international commute from Tokyo. I know there's a fair bit of Atlas dudes who live overseas at the expense of a commuting to/from outside of their 17-day window. Think this is possible with Omni? If so, any advice for the best way to make it work? PS. I'm a military guy so still learning a lot of the lingo.
Thanks!
