I think a small new hire 777 class is running in August. May be mistaken though.

Fair enough. Maybe it's being offered to those with the type or another Boeing

I was given a choice, chose the 767 cause there are 3x as many planes and diversity of routes is much better. A few other reasons. But I do have a Boeing type.

If the bid period is a 31 day month then you are still only required to work 16-17 days? Does that mean on the 31 day month you have 14-15 days off?

Even if I was offered a choice I would've stayed in the 76 for this same reason.

Omni is home-based, yet I notice on apc that ANC is not listed.. are there any exemptions to this or is it a hard no?

Does anyone live there and commute to SEA or PDX for their gateway travel? Or is that frowned upon?

ANC is not an official base. You can live wherever you want but you must designate a gateway somewhere that is approved in the lower 48. You would be responsible for getting yourself to and from SEA or PDX if that is what you designated. It is possible to request alternate travel at the end of your rotation and request a ticket to ANC in lieu of SEA (or whatever base you designate). The ticket price would have to be the same or less for them to approve.

Also, all the lines start the first day with short call (2 hour call out) from your designated gateway. You would have to get yourself in position and be available in case you are called for a trip or a random drug/alcohol test. So you'd possibly need to fly down the day before and would need a place to stay on your own dime.

Yep we have guys that live in ANC and do that. We also have a guy or two living overseas that make it work. Alternate travel and starting trips in places overseas is possible if you are flexible and communicate with them.
