Current positions that Omni pilots are leaving for.
Eastern Airlines = Direct Entry Captain and growth
Amerijet = Direct Entry Captain and growth
National = Direct Entry Captain and growth
Breeze Airways = Direct Entry Captain and growth
Numerous Regionals = Direct Entry Captains and signing bonuses in some situations.
ULCC = Stability and seniority
Legacy = Stability and seniority
Omni Air International = No growth under management of ATSG with Omni revenues going to the ATSG bottom line with no reinvestment in Omni. Upgrades and INH for attrition with no down line support, so you better have you S*&t together.
You have been warned, so make your decisions wisely.

I don.t know what's happen to OMNI The phones don't work . Ecrew doesn't connect Travel is overwhelmed Crew scheduling is clueless. It's not there fault,
Both departments have A lot of personal turnover. Very stressful job.
I think ASTG bought us as a cash cow to feed the leasing business, and they have no intension of growing the company.
The latest from the union was depressing. NO contract anytime soon.

You know things aren't great when guys who intended to make a career here, are looking around, in at least one case so far, a CA here left for a regional street captain job based at his home with a $100k bonus to boot.
Even frontier is throwing a $50k bonus. If guys live in one of these bases, the LCC's and even some of the regionals are real jobs these days. Legacies are hiring Omni guys almost as fast as they apply. If Omni wants to maintain staffing (and this goes for ATI & ABX too) then ATSG needs to tell Ford & Harrison to knock off the BS and get it done.
Omni used to be the best kept secret in 121. Was the highest first year pay in the entire industry, that's gone. It was worth the slightly lower pay and slightly worse work rules to have such a stress free lifestyle. Well, the slightly lower pay and work rules are turning into significantly lower pay, even lower than regionals. Even our work rules are falling way behind. That all ain't good.
It's still a good job, but for military, corporate, regional and lower tier LCC guys, there's no reason to come here anymore unless they specifically want to fly troops globally. They'll just go straight to the legacy or upper tier LCC of their choice. Even other ACMI's have monumentally better contracts thee days. Hourly rates don't tell the whole stories. New hire FO's at Atlas were making $27k per month during Covid with all the soft money over rides.... ours were at $128ph x 64 = $8,192 per month. So, rates aren't everything guys, it's the work rules and soft money in ACMI that makes huge differences. Even after Covid, their soft money and over rides still bring their pilots in well above ours.
Yeah, we're compensated well compared to other careers, but we aren't compensated industry average incomes anymore for airline pilot careers. Amerijet, of all places, just beat us in total income. That needs to change, or we'll become what the regionals used to be; The training program for somebody else.

For ABX, the published duration ends 12/31/26 with a section 6 notice no earlier than 5/31/26. These are just play dates since a follow-on agreement will take a few years beyond this. ATSG is not the type of corporation to work with their labor groups and complete anything on-time/early. If history repeats itself ABX will get the chance to "come up to" whatever ATI/Omni achieve over these next few years....most likely we will not raise the bar, just meet it wherever the others are.
I know Omni has been mostly hands-off regarding the ATSG swamp, but I wouldn't be surprised to see that change. You too could be administratively in ILN, sharing dispatch, training, facilities, general resources, all while still being separate. I wish Omni the best in cracking their egg-heads at the mothership, its a joy riding on the ATSG Carousel of Progress (a Disney attraction).

ATSG already has been using our training center for classes for both sister companies. Omni has definitely changed since the purchase. Some things are better, some aren’t. Operationally, not many obvious changes, but lots of behind the scenes stuff. We owned our planes before. It cost us nothing to park one when contracts slowed; now we lease them from CAM. No flying, still have a lease payment. It’s just a money shuffle for ATSG, but to a moderator Omni isn’t making as much money…. If at all. It’s a shell game they all play. The required profit margin the company required per contract was lowered by ATSG as well…. After all, we have lots of lease payments now….
we’re all stuck together with the same master playing one against the other. If ATI weren’t ALPA, i’d like to have seen a single carrier petition or at least a merged pilot list. We could have done that now by fencing everybody currently on property, and all new hires go on a single list. With them being ALPA it’s more difficult. Eventually when all us old guys are gone, it’s a single list. Inter-company exchange (ICE) rules woukd beca good start too. Go over to any sister company with your company longevity, (not pilot list longevity) until it’s just single list folks.

Was on the call about the short term disability, skip it, no claims in first 13 months and super expensive, most charter(Vista, Netjets, XOJet, American etc) and airlines cover this for free as it saves them money. Time to move on in my opinion.
