Just because KQ has more planes for sale doesn't mean Omni will want them. That is like saying I bought one Ford Focus to replace my old one, but the dealership has 5 more for sale so maybe I'll buy them as well. There is no place in the ACMI market for an aircraft the size of a 777-300 to get consistent business (IMO) and the current two -200s ebb and flow with consistent business already. Wasn't 918AX "stored" in BWI for like 8 weeks due to lack of work?

I agree with the -200ER/LR having limited viability in the Supplemental world, but the -300ER is in high demand in the European ACMI market. But those frames are VERY expensive for a small airline to acquire...

I am surprised Omni is even keeping the B-777 with the underutilization of the fleet. There are crews with as little as 120 hours and 6 landings for the year on the B-777 side of the house. All the good flying and trips have consistently been on the B-767 fleet.

I've always been a watcher of Omni from the outside and I agree. Even with 918AX "parked" for a while, 927AX got very limited flying and only recently had it pick up a bit with the college bowl season. Removing the aircraft in favor of another 767 or two makes much more sense. Also that is what I meant about the -300. The costs would be high with very little return on investment. I would bet Atlas or anyone else with 747-400 PAX aircraft could outbid Omni with a 777-300.

I am surprised at the market they've made with the 767-200. One of my old airlines sold off their 767-200 PAX due to what planning called "limited interest" for a 767-200 passenger in the ACMI market. So good for them there.

And yet, they keep hiring pilots for the 777. I'm pretty sure they're not putting people on the payroll out of the goodness of their hearts.

About two days later, i got a call and assigned an aircraft and a class date of Feb 8th.
Hope that helps.

That's awesome. I can't retire till March 17th. It sounds like they want you in class within a month. If I were to be interviewed they probably would not call me till mid February. Did anyone get 777s?

KQ does have -300s for lease as they still owe GECAS a lot of money for those relatively new aircraft. There are at least 10 777-300ERs for sale that I know of on the market thus if Omni found one at their price, I wouldn't put it past them to purchase one. Omni has a great reputation with its Subservice in the European regions however most of the Airlines they Sub for want a newer 777 with first class.

The current business model for the 777 at Omni is quite genius in hindsight but its primary focus is not Subservice leasing although Omni will accommodate for the right price "XL Airways". Who knows what the future aircraft fleet at the "Big O" looks like but one thing is consistent and that's profitability.

I guess I should go find an Airline I don't work for now and become a "Watcher" of it on the APC forums so I can become an expert at their business interest.

I guess I should become another APC keyboard warrior and post like an ass.... it's called conversation. Un-bunch those panties.

Never said I'm an expert. Only provided my observation.

I suddenly remembered the reason I don't post/use APC anymore. This place gets as bad as a.net with all the little egos running around.
