Chiefs in recurrent are saying 80-90. But most will only need a month or 2 to get it if needed. It's nothing drastic. Most of these guys will fill the upgrades for the remainder of the year.

Compass does not actually check if you have 1000. There will be pilots who upgrade without requirements being met and the only ones that will know about it, is the pilot themself. If you can get away with it, more power to you. So, very few pilots will be bypassed on upgrade. Compass uses each pilot's integrity as the sole check for meeting the upgrade requirements.

I would guess most people wouldn't risk their certificate to upgrade early. Chief made it sound like 90 ineligible to upgrade next year. We will find out soon either way! Should be interesting.

I'd like to think no one is stupid enough to try and game the system like that.

The r-atp people will need more than 2 months to get it, especially if they're not LAX based. Mins - 2500 total, 1000 121. Guy comes in with 1200 and msp or dtw might take a while to get 2500.

Ok system chief told me he didn't know, but if he could guess said 30. Director of training said same thing. ALPA rep said they ask new hires to fill out info sheet with flight experience, but they haven't been using it to calculate upgrade mins and are also unsure how many are/will be below mins. In short, its not being tracked and nobody knows for sure.

On another note: I heard a crew room is being constructed in SEA.

So is Compass taking any CFI's or are they only interviewing previous 121 folks? And is the 4-year degree still a minimum?
