People are stupid. This virus isn't that bad. I know at least 50 people that had it including my whole family. Out of all those, I know one person who went to the hospital with breathing problems. 2 days later he was released and had no more issues. The news is exaggerating the bad news as if it's the most likely outcome.

It's about power. Look at Michigan. The governor is furious that the courts ruled against her power. She's furious to find out she's not the king of Michigan she thought she was.

I wouldn’t say people are “stupid,” but some may be more risk averse and that is their choice of course. The problem comes when they (the politicians) want to make the choice for me.

I honestly can’t figure out what the goal, end game, whatever you want to call it, is for some of these governors. There is so much data now from states that are open that shows cases (more accurately deaths) do not continue to exponentially rise that you can only wonder if they are holding out for a vaccine? That is certainly a change in the goal.

If the numbers continue trending down in the “open” states like Georgia, how are similar states going to justify the restrictions when their numbers aren’t any better and their economy is in the toilet?

It makes you wonder if it isn’t more about national politics and the ability to blame their lockdown on the Federal government.

Either They are trying save face. They don’t have the character to be able to admit they were wrong. They went all in with nonsense lockdowns and now everyone has to suffer because of their childishness. Or they legitimately are fear driven people who think everyone else has to live that way because they can’t get over there own fear driven mental illness. I’m not sure. I hope someone asks the Michigan governor and asks which one she is.

Queen Gretch has enjoyed unchecked and unlimited power since this thing began. You saw her massive hypocrisy when she allowed her husband to enjoy a visit to lake country while refusing to allow any other resident to visit another home in state. When the court struck down her powers, you saw how angry she was. It was the equivalent of a 10 year old being told no you can't have that whole package of Oreos. She's never been told no in her entire life and now she's throwing a temper tantrum because of it. This is what we've let our politicans become. We The People are no longer in charge of ourselves. We let the Bush administration allow massive invasion of privacy, we let the Obama administration into our health care, and now the Trump administration shut down the country and these Democratic governors (and some Republican) have taken it and run with it. It shows what happens when you allow a politician to have an ounce of power unchecked.

And it's our fault, the American people. We're the ones who roll over and take it.

Truth be told, these governors seem to have decided that one case of Covid, one, is too many. Until there are 0 cases, and it's going to have to be 0 cases for a LONG time, they will keep their states locked down.

Waiting for OOfff to come in and tell me I'm 100% wrong.

They were never scared the curve would rise too high on the y-axis, they were scared it would end too soon on the x-axis.

Just got my 1st class medical re-upped 20 minutes ago. The Doctor said
1. COVID is real (of course) but
2. The CDC et al have highly politicized covid. His adult son and daughter had it and recovered for example.
3. He did say its largely an airborne threat. Don't worry so much about surfaces and touching.

There was an MD on the PBS Newshour a few weeks ago (sorry, I can't find a link.) He stated the same thing. We've wasted a lot of resources on sanitizing surfaces for no reason (although this can help mitigate other infections like the flu.)

The biggest threat is being in a crowded, enclosed space (elevators, waiting rooms ...)

An emphasis on external air or APU air at the gate would be a lot more effective.
