Is a NH able to bid on an AE during training if they’re already assigned an aircraft?

though seatlocks still apply. You just are able to swap bases.

well don't forget... If you are on an airplane that isn't in your desired base you can bid off of it (if you can hold base and plane you want) after 1 year and then have a 3 year seat lock.

Unless there is a new category opening....say BOS 320...even NH's can bid regardless of seat lock.

Okay so let’s say during NH you are awarded SEA 73 and then a SEA 320 opens up. You can change over to the 320 regardless of seat lock? Is that correct?

If you can hold it, yes. However, you will incur a new seat lock that is consecutive sentences with your original...

Not quite. When bidding into a new category (i.e., SEA320 which currently does not exist), any previous category freeze goes away and you would merely incur a 24 month freeze for the SEA 320 award.

Thanks for the correction. I clearly conflated the new hire change-equipment-to-change-base seat lock with the new category seat lock.

All good. It does get a bit confusing.
