No, it’s just that for whatever reason, that fleet has ended up significantly over-staffed, especially when compared to the 737 and 320 categories (the 717 falls in the middle). How long that will last is anyones guess. This last class drop didn’t even include any 220 positions. One factor for the slowing of movement is that many of the pilots on the fleet are still stuck under their new hire seat lock and unable to change planes to “more desirable” bases (ATL, DTW, MSP, LAX) until after 1 year. Whereas a 737 or 320 pilot can bail to any base of their choosing on the first AE after indoc.

Even a quick look at the ATL bid packet for Sept tells me this isn’t true.

How long does it take roughly to get an email to take the online assessment after receiving an email request to fix/add information assuming you do so promptly?

September isn't summer flying. And I've spoken with enough ER crews to know it's true.

What’s their seniority? And how far into the packet did you go? ATL7ERB is the largest category at Delta…around 550 Bs. That’s a lot of trips to skim.

There’s a good mix of transcons, Europe, SA, Caribbean/Central America, Hawaii, and yes, FL shuttles.

Those 4 legs days to FL go very junior.

Yes, it does more FL turns than it used to. But so are all the other new hire aircraft out of ATL.

Actually…in the off chance you’re senior to me…it sucks and you should avoid it like the plague. If you’re junior, the ER is a great category and don’t let people who’ve never been on the category scare you off.

Is there a uniform and/or luggage allotment for new hires?

Uniforms they’ll give you. Luggage, you’re on your own.
