PWA 23.EE covers VAS

Negotiators’ Notepad 23-06: C2019 Section 23 - Scheduling breaks it down with a litle more info as well.

Thanks for the references.

Just talked to CS and was told that since a SC period for tomorrow had already been assigned then I wouldn’t be considered available for the VAS … hence the reason the YS didn’t go thru. CS also said that there needed to be 2 days of availability on one’s schedule in order to WS or YS … even though the VAS period only showed 6 hours 1000am - 1600pm.

That’s because 2 days is the max you can be out on a VAS. Either 2 days, or the first time back at your base (IIRC)

Default Lineholder to RSV transition

Trying to find guidance in PWA and Pilot Scheduling Handbook documents. No luck so far.

Lineholder in November, RSV in December. Nov 30 is an OFF day. Dec 1 is a LC day. Does the 1000 AM carveout apply for trips reporting on DEC 1, or can they not assign a trip reporting before 1800/DEC 1?

You are coming off a non-fly day as defined in the PWA so you are subject to the early-report stipulations.

PWA 23.S.2.a.5 mentions as early as 10 hrs when coming off "non fly day"

PWA 23.A.30 defines "non fly day"

PWA 23.S.2.a.5 Applies to a “Reserve Pilot”. I’m not a “Reserve pilot”

(at least I wasn’t on Nov 29 when they assigned it.)
