Appreciate the responses. At my BES, I fluctuate between line and reserve fairly regularly, usually having a line about two thirds of the year. I tend to prefer a line although I do know that reserve is a good deal. It was just a weird glitch I fell into....but it is all learning as I hadn't had a scenario like that.

Of course the opposite is true flying a carry-out trip RES-REG, where all that credit gets premium double-pay treatment when the trip ends on a REG day off.

And then the randomness of 'CS rest removal'; being assigned trips out of seniority because 'reasons' is making me re-evaluate my reserve strategy.

My last reserve assignment came to me as the 3rd highest RAW value with a load of guys/gals in the days of availability group with lower values.
and that trip was for different number of days than my availability group. The proper group for that particular metric also had plenty of reserve available for that day. It’s the Wild West now.
If I have 4 days of reserve available and I’m on a 3-day trip they always assign me rest for day 4 in the middle of day 3. Then delete as needed for SC or RR. Needless rest for someone going in to XX days. That rest served only to hem everyone in for a half a day.
and I already had to acknowledge 4 days of preposted rest for April. All unnecessary

C044 fast read today is a good read. Also, per SM recap of Velvet, don’t expect pre-posted rest to change “because we can actually see how many we really have available” (which is a lie). Same person also supposedly said “30 hours on a layover doesn’t count for 30/168”…so…
