I'll give it a shot assuming my PD goes thru. Better off with a 1 and 4 day block or 2 and 3?

Personal preference. You're more usable with 4 days of availability than 3. But I don't like trips longer than 3 days.
I usually bid Mon-Fri LC then drop Wednesday to have 2 and 2.

Reserve pilot picks up GS/IA that is all on X days. Gets rerouted into one additional day, rotation now ends on what originally had been a LC day. No L9 reroute pay, and could reduce overall pay if the rotation has soft time that pays out on the new last day? Or, since the original footprint should have turned that day into a PB day, does that not apply?

You get screwed. PB days aren’t supposed to be applied until after the rotation finishes. This is why on my contact survey one thing I said needs to be fixed is L.9 needs to apply regardless if it is an X day or LC day.

I just had this exact thing happen to me. I got all the reroute pay. Don’t know if that’s what was supposed to happen.

Did you see communication saying PB days are now automated and being applied at the beginning of a rotation? But only being trialed on 717 pairings.

Dec 10th weekly update email. During this test phase, schedulers won’t be able to manually apply or remove payback days. Pilots may notice payback days appearing right after being awarded a premium rotation (within 15 minutes). If all goes well they plan on rolling it out to all categories for Jan bid period.

When are the PB days supposed to show up if not in the 717 test case? On the 320, just finished a two day rotation GS (on X-days), and don't want to get screwed out of the PB days. I will be calling tomorrow, as I don't want CS to say they "forgot" as my next LC starts on 25 Dec.

If they aren't on there within 10 minutes after you are awarded the greenslip, 99% of they time they will forget to add them. You can call them anytime to have them added. Still amazes me how often we have to "fix" scheduling errors

You won’t get screwed. Just call CS and ask them to place them. They will probably do it while you are on the phone.

Just make sure you understand the rules (9 hours after release, plus 24 hours for every interrupted X-day), and calculate your own PR end time. I know a guy recently who had to tell a supervisor the correct time, as they were shorting him all PR time, which is impossible unless you release at exactly 1500.
