Sorry for another stupid reserve question, but I hardly ever sit RSV. I got a CNO notification while on 30 hr assigned rest. CNO came at 0405 and I was in rest until 0600. I was assigned a 4 day rotation reporting tomorrow at 0600. It's now almost 1400 and I haven't received a call from a live scheduler. My understanding is CNO is not legal notification of a LC trip assignment. Now that I'm < 18 hrs to report, I can call scheduling and they would be required to remove the rotation. Is my thinking correct ?

Edit: Re-reading, it seems like they never called prior to 18 hours, so no valid notification. Calling them and asking to remove it is the wrong approach, in my opinion. Wait for them to call you and then advise you were never properly notified.

Unbelievable indeed, yet happening every day.

This whole conversation confused me. I thought 30 hour rest counted as a non-fly day?

However, the self-determination 'carveout' does not apply for an assignment placed 18 or more hours after LC starts. For that, a person must call you to be legal notification. This is the situation which applied to the OP of the question at hand (which was 24 hours after being on LC):

I genuinely don't get what RG & HT think they are saving by not hiring a truckload of CS folks (much less accelerating IT fixes). I mean, literally 1% of the premium pay they are giving us would fully fund that shop for a decade.
