I don’t have my PWA handy but I thought the last step was any pilot, in position, in inverse seniority order. Never did I think IA involved calling every pilot systemwide.

Recently I got assigned a crappy 3-day trip, about 1+ day in advance. I had a blanket RWC slip in. Some time later, (once inside the 24 hours to report), I got a live call from a scheduler with a proffer to replace that trip, (Reserve with Conflict) with an easier 2-day.
Waste more LC days and work less?
Damn good deal

211. “Position” means the combination of a pilot’s aircraft type and status.
last step on 23N ladder:
34. Available qualified pilots (in position, in inverse seniority order)
So the final step is system (position) wide. Inverse assignments that you are actually being called for are prior to GSWC in the PWA.

This preposted rest is really ****ing me off.
Second time in 2 weeks Ive been schwacked with a crap trip with junior pilots 30/168 legal, no SAQ/TQ issues, no low time FOs, because it touched their preposted rest.
Yet they've also assigned trips where they've cancelled my pre posted rest because I was (barely) 30/168 legal.
One of the guys has IDENTICAL work days and its just where they decided to pre post rest that got me. I was RAW 3 and senior to guys in RAW 1 with preposted rest.

They are NOT allowed to skip. Many years ago, I called them out for skipping GSWC. They just started the process over. After I called, they magically went back and I got the call for GSWC. Schedulers going off script and doing whatever they want is not a new phenomenon.

"Exception: A GS for a same-day, next day rotation by a pilot who will be a reserve pilot on the next day will be processed without regard to their reserve award/assignment for the next day or second day."
GS/QS can be a very useful tool to get out of a nasty RES assignment on the following day(s).

It all ****es me off, too, but this part of it as much as anything else. THey give you rest, you acknowledge it, but then they just snatch it when it suits them. It's a bait and switch that is very fatiguing (and I mean that seriously)
