The line that says "Qual Training" and shows a value of 3:05 per day

So they gave me 0600-1200 SC today. Once I acknowledged the SC CNO, I looked at OT noted the two flights I'd likely be schwacked with, noting that neither had a prayer of going on time if they did. (0730 and 0745 reports). Stayed off MiCrew/iCrew.

Went to bed expecting a 0600 call.

0602. Phone rings.

This is (name in) CS calling for CX500T Hey, CX, got a quick one for you. May not be able to do it, but um, We're just looking at trying to To get you on the, to push um for rotation XXXX so 7:30 check-in at JFK. So JFK to (destination) today. It pushes at 8:30. Hopefully you can make that push at 8:30. Um, Do the best you can. If you need airport parking, we'll give it to you. Um, we don't like to give it for 2 days, but we'll give it to you, so, uh, please acknowledge. Thank you, bye.
Looking at DTC. They had it early enough in OT (23:30 to report) to give it to a LC. They didn't. Burned a 5 day SC on a trip a 2 day LC could've done. SAQ airport but a common SAQ.

They ended up covering a trip that would've needed a SC with a GS.

They are doing this to themselves.

Of course, as I'm parking at T4 short term parking yepp. "Where are you" call from Duty Pilot.

Under 1:30 notification to report during rush hour. You get what you get. They could've given it to me off LC yesterday morning before SCs were assigned if there was no other SAQ'd guys available. And knowing its a 0730 report I'd have gotten up at 0445 and been driving by 0530. They were lucky traffic wasn't horrible. We only left like a half hour late. Could've been worse.

But if they'd just done stuff CS should be doing, they'd have done it on time and cheaper.

I don't speed to get to work. I'm not skipping shower or a quick breakfast. Nor running out the door. That's how hats get forgotten.

I think an arbitrator just ruled in our losing grievance that short call is two and a half to twelve hours to report.

They sure did. It wasn't exactly part of the ruling, but it was part of the background information given as part of the ruling.

Can someone explain the arbitrator's ruling in laymen's terms? When both DAL and ALPA talked about "its okay to assign additional short calls", what exactly does that mean? It was a bit fuzzy. Certainly it can't mean the company can disregard max short calls?

Also is there a more thorough document to articulate the ruling available?

ALPA sent out the grievance decision. I don’t think it was a surprise. Essentially the company can stop rewarding SC 7+ and its subsequent benefits (I think 3 total hours of pay) even if someone senior wants to YS it.

But hidden amongst the legalese of the arbitrators decision was a choice quote that said something akin to “short call is when a pilot needs to be available between 2 and a half to 12 hours”

A Facebook post earlier said that scheduling is no longer awarding PB days on flying done over a PB day.. it now counts towards flying done on a reserve day. PB days will only be awarded for flying on originally scheduled X days. Anyone run into this yet? If this is true they have now eliminated rolling thunder.

My buddy inquired about it to our LEC and was informed it was a mistake from a scheduler.

Not surprised. The manager of the duty pilots is a former chief pilot.
