It’s too much to type up, and really doesn’t matter. The pilot had what I would consider minor, but legitimate concerns. And he was an a hole in response to every answer the company gave. If someone was talking to a coworker like this in the terminal or lounge, supervisor involvement would have happened. Sure the RD comes off like a patronizing company man, but I didn’t think his actions were off base.

Patrick Burns doesn't take a dump on pilots, son, without a plan.

Believe it or not this was actually said. I guess we can now see why “always keep your deals” was taken out of the rules of the road this year. Why would anybody go the extra mile when the company management makes a statement like this?
Nothing new under the sun. Its just many of you alls first time seeing this. The salad days and unicorns you thought where Delta are over, they were never there actually. this is business as usual at this air line. Always has been always will be.

It is clear where management stands. My question is where is DALPA?? Going on 3 weeks now since the infamous "letter". Now this act of animous. What are they waiting for, an invitation? DH's letter was a joke, paltry and weak, just like his "leadership" as chairman thus far. What is the plan? What are the actions this group will take as directed from DALPA? Have they been consulting with the ALPA attorneys for the last 2+ weeks? Is that the delay? I don't get it. I am pointing fingers here. DALPA is my representation to management. I expect them to be effective in that regard. So yes, I am going to make this about DALPA in some regards. I've always known the management and what they are about, I would expect my representative body to them to be forceful and use every tool legally at their disposal. So far its been quiet other than said letter from MEC.

Now to the management quote there from PB. Well I guess we can play that two ways right? I don't know. I would surely like some guidance from the MEC. This will only get worse as time goes on as it should clear to most pilots that this is a full on frontal assault and they are not turning back. Our actions, as a unified group, will stop it though. Come on DH, do something already - please.

I don’t know why anyone would think their employer is their friend..

.
Where is DALPA? They're having a Special Meeting in ATL on 10/26-10/27 (almost a month after the fact). They'll all take FPL and fly down positive space and stay at a 4 star hotel downtown. There will be a catered breakfast buffet. They'll grabass for a while, have an hour or two closed door meeting and brainstorm a few things, then break for a catered lunch. They'll have another afternoon meeting and debate whether the line pilots deserve to get treated like we work at endeavor. Then the hospitality suite bar opens at 4pm for drinks on us, along with another buffet. That night, they'll break up into smaller groups to enjoy the town on their expense accounts for "working" dinners where the alcohol will flow. They'll repeat all this the next day.

The result will be more Strongly Worded Letters/Emails. The company will laugh and double down, the pilot group will scoff and handle things their own way, DALPA will pat themselves on the back for being tough and take a victory lap. DH will make an appointment with JA under his desk.

Wash, rinse, repeat next time.

I think this is really the case. I thought I read it earlier but can't see it now, but someone mentioned maybe between 2014 and 2018 as being the "good times." LOTS of pilots hired during that time frame, myself included, who are just seeing this for the first time. I don't think anyone really thought they were our friend, just that it's been fairly cordial. I think the big shock is the in-your-face nature of their comments, and that it's actually being said aloud. Never mind that they're taking a stance that is clearly contrary to the language and it's intent. Their stance is akin to me saying that I interpret our SC language of "promptly available" is 4.5 hours and it's not a violation and I can't be punished until the arbitrator says it's a violation (or pick any other ridiculous stance). I think it's pretty clear to the group that this is a cost savings measure to reduce the impact of the agreed upon PWA. It just seems like such a short-sighted stance.

Of course it is. What I want to know is what moron in the GO is actually listening to the forked-tongue FH advisors who keep telling them this, and why they believe it will actually work. My money is on RG. As soon as he leapfrogged his way to the top, those of us who have seen this before knew we were F'd with a capital F. His goal is to bring our cost structure down to a per capita version of endeavor, while keeping NPS (the only metric they care about now) up. He thinks he's in line for JL's job and this is his play.

Meanwhile, the air line's costs will double, profits will disappear, and most importantly to them NPS SCORES WILL PLUMMET as pilots stop going above and beyond ("quiet quit" as the kids say).

I had it (2014-2018) in there then edited it out. I didn't want to start a "my time is/was better than your time" war and distract from the thread.

RG - that's a B-I-N-G-O

But he's just a tool for the big guy.

None of that is censored. Based on past history, some trigger-words automatically flag a post for mod review before the post is released. The list includes literally only about 15 words... if you're hitting the filter a lot, maybe there's a reason.

The word boomer is used as an insult about 50% of the time. But otherwise it's allowed after review. The word snowflake is on the list too, but it almost never gets by the mod review, unless you're talking about next winter's de-ice policy changes.

People with higher post counts are not subject to the filter and review.
