I don't think we should give them away for free, because they do give us some leverage (how much is debatable). Something needs to change though, because the current situation is untenable. QS will probably help and can't come fast enough.

Many people would benefit by giving one or both of those away "for free" because they would be able to get premium trips again, while right now they're getting screwed.

Did I say get rid of it? Nope. I said it should be combined with auto acknowledge. Either that or only allow auto accept when asking for a specific rotation. I have even heard suggestions that it should not be allowed inside of 12 or maybe 24 hours. But auto accept for a blanket slip should not be allowed. All it does is gum up the works with pilots who have no intention of flying that trip.

I am cautiously optimistic that the current MEC is far more shrewd and understanding of the value involved.

Reread my post you quoted. When I say "renegotiate", what does that mean? Or getting rid of 23M7?
Do you think if we wanted to get rid of 23M7 that would be a concession?
