MOU 25-05
#1641
Did I say get rid of it? Nope. I said it should be combined with auto acknowledge. Either that or only allow auto accept when asking for a specific rotation. I have even heard suggestions that it should not be allowed inside of 12 or maybe 24 hours. But auto accept for a blanket slip should not be allowed. All it does is gum up the works with pilots who have no intention of flying that trip.

Correct, it's a disingenuous statement to make.

Why people are seeing this as an auto accept problem and not as batch size, crew scheduling staffing and training, and company choice to exploit 23M7 issue is beyond me. These are the root of the problem, auto accept is just the coping mechanism pilots have used to avoid the failures and exploitation being done by the company.

You're clearly another one of those people who doesn't understand the difference in utility.

I'm sure I'm missing something here, but would it work to pay all pilots in the affected category a portion of each M7 payment at the end of each month? This would eliminate any 23M7 payment to any OOBWS or anyone else not in the category of the rotation.
Example: a 23M7 payment is due because of a an ATL 320B rotation. All ATL320B pilots share in the 23M7 payout and only ATL320B pilots. To protect seniority, 50% of the total monthly payout could be equal across the entire category, the other 50% could take seniority into account where the #1 guy gets twice the amount as the plug. This would eliminate the incentive for farmers, especially out of base farmers and hopefully lead to less chaos covering trips. Just a thought.
