But that is pre-supposed by 24.AA.2.a where the FRB determines the pay for a pilot (where 24.AA.6 comes in) but if the case is excluded by 24.AA.2.b.1 then it is not up to the FRB to determine the pay disposition.

Call the MEC Chair. Call your reps.

If not for you, at least for course correcting the precedents for future pilots.

Absolutely. They chose their bed going into management, now stay there. Once you pull a Judas/Benedict Arnold, the ranks can’t take you back.

Like, would the Old School frat let Dean “Cheeeeese” Prichard into their frat?? Thought not.

. This is your money !!! Why are you trying so hard to defend the company for not paying you?? I’m starting to think you’re just a troll making up a story to trash the union! If not, just keep spending your energy on complaining on social media instead of actually advocating for yourself!

There were quite a few guys in the same situation on the Facebook thread and they all took it to ALPA. ALPA agreed with the company. What more do you want them to do?

I know it's hard for you to believe, but this is the situation that we're in. Keep your head in the sand.

You called in fatigued because you were fatigued. Not because you had a personal issue.

A personal issue would be “My wife didn’t want me to work today, so I called in fatigued for my turn.”

I would absolutely fight for your report to be included and paid. Otherwise, it sets a bad precedent for the entire pilot group.

Sorry to come off so skeptical, but this doesn’t pass the sniff test. However, im happy to reach out to your reps to confirm your story. What’s your base? ( Tennisguru that is)

I am still fighting, it is just not an immediate process. The key is 24.AA.2.b.1 where there is no allowance for the FRB to exclude a case where the pilot is fatigued, regardless of the underlying causes. You are either fatigued (accepted) or sick/personal issues (excluded). There is no allowance to mix those two together. If the leadership of our union ends up disagreeing with that clear language then I don't know what to tell you. It would certainly have a chilling affect on the fatigue program if pilots know that the company would be able to nitpick details behind why you were fatigued in an effort to not pay you.

I would at least elevate it to my reps, Contract Admin, and/or the MEC Chairman himself. Find out if this is actually the crazy interpretation of 24.AA.2.b.1 that the entire MEC wants to get behind.

If they’re going to play that game, then every fatigue report should say nothing more than “I was fatigued due to lack of sleep.” Nothing beyond that is any of their business anyway.
