If the leadership of our union ends up disagreeing with that clear language then I don't know what to tell you. It would certainly have a chilling affect on the fatigue program if pilots know that the company would be able to nitpick details behind why you were fatigued in an effort to not pay you.
are you C66 or C44?

Read the latest from ALPA. Just curious. What would ASAPing the CPO for pilot pushing accomplish? Not spitballing here. I’m actually interested and don’t know.

FAA sees it.

My guess is that it's an attempt to put FAA eyes on it. Not sure how fruitful that tactic will be, but it's probably better than nothing.

One data point. A friend got a letter and was pretty fired up about it. He was out on STD last year for a surgery that used up 200+ hours of sick (all verified). However, his 12 month lookback was les than 25 hours. More proof that it is pure harassment.

My post on self policing has nothing to do with the 50 hour rule regardless. It’s about the differences in the systems. UAL gets 60 hours a year. After that sick leave is unpaid.
Wrong. UAL pilots accrue 6 hours/mo (72 hours a year capped at 1300 hours), plus 48 hours/year in an Extended Sick Bank that is capped at 180 hours. If a pilot uses more than 170 hours of sick leave for one event, it re-accrues at 7hrs/mo until the 170+ is replenished.

I'm on the outside looking in, but it seems to me that you guys are holding all the cards. It's not like anyone is getting fired over this, so WTF do these low level management dip****s think this will accomplish other than put a dagger in the back of your goodwill towards the Delta brand?

It was kind of a disappointing letter from ALPA to be honest... I was hoping for some more fire. Hopefully it will come.

Correct. However what's the FAA gonna do about it?

The company didn't say "fly when you're sick". The "auspices" of how the company wants to enforce whatever this is thru intimidation is not breaking any FAR that I can find. The FAA normally does not drill down into such matters like this "relationship" between employer and employee.

I've seen more balls on a neutered Corgi.
