I've had them refuse to adjust my time before too. And then when transferred to the duty pilot he tried to tell me "well you're legal because you have 8 hours behind the door." I told him well we haven't eaten yet, haven't showered, literally just got to the room, so either have them adjust our time or we will most likely be fatigued in the morning. He was not happy, but when we woke up, our schedule had been changed
Why do duty pilots always take tracking's side?

I once had a DP reply to a very delayed report phone call with, "wellllll, tracking is going to want to negotiate that new report time." I told him, "I'll tell you what, I'll be in the lobby in 10 hours. Please have transportation there". The time was changed, but no van was present. shocker. Had to Lyft to the airport. Never heard another word.
Don't ever back down on FAR required rest. And if you are fatigued, please call in fatigued.

My tactic is I simply tell whoever is giving me pushback (which is sadly the duty pilot most of the time) that I will happily continue discussing black and white regulations with them all night, but every minute we continue this conversation is just delaying the next flight even more.

+1. And once again for those sitting in back, FAR 117 says "8 uninterrupted hours of sleep opportunity". It is literally impossible to do that with '8 hours behind the door'. Frankly, that needs an ASAP so the FAA sees the pilot pushing.

It was explained to me that the duty pilots are heavily affected by whoever is running the OCC at the time.
I had a red coat board a plane without all of our flight attendants and when I called the duty pilot to explain that this boarding needed to be stopped and reversed, his response was, "Well the passengers are already on board and we have to ASAP it anyway, why not just leave them on?"
It was later explained to me that the person running the OCC that night had made it clear that my flight HAD to leave on time and everyone was just following his marching orders. And my ASAP just got a generic canned "Your ASAP has been reviewed and is now closed" message. Pathetic.

technically that would be 12 hours from release to report, not push so off by an hour but still get your point.
