I highly doubt any pilot group gets released with the current interpretations of the RLA, but especially under this administration.
Spirit went on strike for a few days. No way any of the big 3 or Southwest allowed to go on strike.

My first thought.

But the original question was "airline of more than 2000 pilots".

Spirit had about 500 at the time.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
You are right but they have to be caught EVERY time to not come out ahead. 23M7 list is the least honest document scheduling creates and has no transparency.

he had to. The pressure he was under with holiday travel, a 99% strike vote, and the constant bad press he got courtesy of Delta pilots picketing, running ads, etc backed him into a corner. That was all induced by pilot unity and resolve.

This is probably the most underrated factor leading to the contract getting done. This quote really ****ed off the arbitrator, and handed ALPA much needed leverage.

like Redux said, NK was a very small player at the time, and that’s the only reason IMO they were released.

NW in 98 will likely hold the title for the last major airline strike for a LONG time unless we see the reinterpretations of the RLA rolled back. As long as mediators are allowed to refuse to declare an impasse when one exists, the entire law is being undermined

that was certainly a big part of it. I personally wonder how much the administration wanting to be seen as “labor friendly” after the railroad fiasco played into a favorable deal as well.

We are only constrained by the RLA because we decided that we are.

If the current generations of airline pilots existed when the industry was in its infancy, there never would have been unions.

What are you willing to risk to improve the profession?

PATCO felt the same way.
