BUT...did the Captain make the, "We have no lav, so Pee before you GO!" PA??
And how long would it take to let everyone off to use the airport facility, then reboard them...?

Deferring the only lav is unacceptable irregardless as to whether you make a lav inop announcement. Back in the 19 seat turboprop days it wasn't uncommon to have a pax go in a bottle and that was on a flight less than an hour.

"irregardless" is not a word, and why move to the next subject? this is somewhat interesting...would you cancel a 60 min flight for no lav?

Speaking of opinions. A lavatory, if the only lavatory on board, should be a required item. I speak of this from experience operating 50 seat RJs and smaller turboprops. So yes, my opinion is you fix the lav or cancel the flight.
Perhaps there should be a DCI thread where items such as this could be discussed.

On an RJ, it is a bucket with a flapper valve and a drain. It can not really break. Most deferrals seem to relate to ground handlers refusing to service it and the crew eventually saying "no"

Hoser, in regards to your golden day incident, have you contacted Curtis over at ALPA? He's the former scheduler and worth talking to. Just follow the command prompts on the phone when you call there and you'll get him. He's helped me twice thus far.
