... you're going to get seriously bent over.

And when they decide to charge you the "change fee" of $150/ticket instead of the cancel fee they promised would apply if $29 per ticket, and just give you a credit towards some future flight instead of the actual refund as promised, don't even THINK about questioning them.

And if you even TRY to discuss it and bring up the fare rules and pamphlets linked to the Fly for Less page to support that you should get your $1900 back as promised when you bought the "refundable" tickets, which you wisely printed to be sure you could get the promised refund, you're going to get threatened with having your Non-rev privileges being revoked.

Last time I EVER try to fly on Delta for $$, or try to give them my business. That 20% "savings" as an employee was the most expensive ticket I never used in my life, and getting threatened by a ticket agent to shut up and take the loss was just unbelievable. NOT a huge fan of my company just now.
The front line ACS gate agents are not the ones who are "best equipped" to handle refund issues. The training they get these days is minimal at best, so they are minimally useful at best. I highly suggest using the Delta.com refunds link to email/talk to a refund specialist. I have had a couple of issues that needed a fix and they are by far the most educated employees on the subject.

You can call the 800-221-1212 number to speak with a refund specialist also.

FYI, they get bombarded with p1ssed off people all day long, so being friendly can really make their day.

Sailing,

Just to be clear:

In the first post, are you suggesting that Bar should be concerned about the future of his job?

In the second post, are you suggesting Bar should quit?

When you still have questions, call 1800-USA-ALPA M-F 0800-2000 or post a question on the social media tab, committee corner, then the applicable committee.

Page 5 of NNP #8 also has that answer.

Avoid APC for a proper contractual knowledge base.

This is not a slight to all the smart people on here, it is a protection for any pilot who wants to know answers to real questions, the CPO isn't going to buy your "but a guy on APC said I could do that" excuse.

Shiznit,

....but it is nice to come on here and get a quick reply. It took over a week to get a call back from ALPA just to say they were looking into my problem. The good news is most apc'ers were right and I will be getting some extra money. It's nice to get a call from ALPA saying the company violated xyz and we are now working on getting premium pay for their violation. Thanks mystery ALPA dude!

Try 800 847-0578 which is Passenger Refunds. That's probably the line they connect you to when you call the 1212 number.

Shiz,

I'm not so sure about that, the very detail you provide above actually contradicts your own conclusion, which I have highlighted.

I have always had good luck getting answers on this thread. Normally good info and usually points me in the right direction.

Dude: Oh, no. I fly the big international jets.

Girl: Like a 747?

Dude: No, no. A little smaller. We call it the E-R. It's the Boeing 767-300ER. The ER means extended range, it's an international airplane.

Girl: Uh huh... what's that loud noise? OH LOOK!!!!!

Girl: GOSH, ever since that Denzel movie, MD-80s are so freaking hot. Too bad you don't fly those!

LOL FTB Your posts are always my favorite. I'm so excited for Denzel to make not only being a pilot cool, but the Mad Dog!

I think the low ALV triggers one extra day off. Plus, if the reserves are over 20% or something (whatever that means) that should trigger a second extra day off, although its unlikely many if any categories will be that fat but who knows. So at least 13/14 I think, and possibly 14/15 for 1 or 2 base/seat's that are super fat.
