It's not divisive at all. You simply articulated a position.

I viewed ACL's answer as a soft sales pitch, not too divisive, not too agressive towards people that might remain in office, and pleasant to the people that think MEMRAT is required of FTDT.

I think FTDT requires MEMRAT, because it has a significant impact on our lives. Don't you, ACL?

Well said. The proof will be in the pudding, not the rumor of pudding.

I voted for the TA, and I'm comfortable with my decision, but I certainly can't show you the resultant benefits yet.

I can see both sides.

To me it was more than what was in the PWA. I also was concerned with traditional patterning up, versus how it was done in this agreement.

I do believe the company negotiated in good faith. There was a lot that was not set in stone, and that allows latitude if the business plan does not go as is. Some of that is good, but a lot of it is disconcerting to pilots who live and work by an agreement. We as a group decided to go with it. I also believe that even though they did negotiate in good faith, they were not going to willfully give anything to us that we were not willing to wait it out for.

It will be interesting to see how the next round goes.

So if you had been a rep, would you have allowed the pilots to vote on the TA? That's an important question. Would you have represented the 38% or the majority?

Many of us are just hoping some of those good rumors come true. The last several years have been somewhat frustrating. It'd be great to start seeing some consistent positive movement.

That being said, I am greatful that I've been working under a management team that has the ability to be pro-active, rather then re-active. I'm certain there have been multiple times over the last 4 years where furloughs have been considered. I'm thankful the trigger was never pulled, & that RA is smart enough to realize that it would've cost more $$$ in the long run. I look forward to more of their smart looking forward moves.

I know your personal opinion of the TA. You have every right to that opinion.

I asked if you were an elected LEC Rep, would you have voted to allow the pilots to vote on the TA or not?

Slow,

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm interpreting your question aimed at ACL as a sort of challenge to explain his approach should be be elected.

I'm too new here to be vocal (a fact which I frequently forget) but I have a thing or two to say about ACL.

I think you've done a good job of exposing the masses to the frustrations of service within ALPA, having to make decisions based on information not everyone has (and then dealing with the judgement and opinions of the less informed). You've also done a good job of exposing people on a basic level to the complexities of the decision making process our DALPA folks execute on a daily basis. On all those issues, I must defer to the more experienced and qualified here.

While you may disagree with many of his opinions, I think you must grant that ACL seems to have achieved a pretty admirable knowledge base with respect to the industry.

I can tell you first hand that ACL (not unlike many of our DALPA reps and volunteers) has been completely available to help a guy out. He's taken the time to explain a great number of issues and lend a hand behind the scenes to a good number of dudes, including myself.

He has my full support in his campaign. If he's not able to serve in that capacity, I do think that not getting him involved in our union in a big way is a serious waste of talent.

Just my .02

Until all that happens, then it's just absolutely silly for you to point to a rumor of good things in the future and intimate, "you were wrong I was right".

Just splittin hairs here, but they can't hold 100 seats. Max configuration allows 90 seats in a single class configuration.

I get your point, but if he had been in office it is hoped the 38% would have been , 20%.

Without the non disclosed information our Reps had available to them it is very hard to judge their sausage making. In C44 it is my opinion our Reps did an outstanding job balancing the interests of the pilots they represent.

We all can.

I'm not in your council, and it looks like Slow is going to challenge you a while (which I think is healthy), so I don't need to be redundant. I'll say this, and be done:

I think I recall from your last foray into campaigning that what is lacking is a clear picture of what you stand for and against. You're a knowledgeable person, and a pleasant person to have an interent conversation with. You're interested in the airline and the union. Good. But what vision do you have, and what sort of leadership attributes do you bring? What controversials calls have you made or supported?

These are things you need to develop in converting your internet equity as a nice huy, into something useful as a leader (and rep) for the benefit of pilots of your council. As Slow challenges you for some clear positions, I would hope that you rise to the occasion, not deliver platitudes. Take some risks, get a mandate, make some changes. Don't just get elected on a platform of seeing both sides.

Good luck to you.

Regards,

Sink r8.

I'll gladly trade my EVO 4G for an iPhone 4 any day. What a piece of junk.
